A YouTuber named @Theo is demanding that the @FFmpeg project (the open source video encoding tool used across the computer world) kick out a contributor (the person running their X account) — and has offered a $20,000 bounty to FFmpeg if they give in to @Theo’s demands.
Theo, who appears to have a personal vendetta against the person behind the @FFmpeg account, has released a YouTube video where Theo repeatedly screams that the FFmpeg account administrator is a “motherf***er”.
In response, a small number of FFmpeg contributors are proposing a “vote” on whether or not to remove X account access from that contributor (and collect the $20k bounty).
Other FFmpeg contributors are pointing out that @Theo’s actions are those of a bully (manipulating a project and attacking individuals with large bounties, screaming profanities and name calling).

@cs2_coco The average cs player doesnt care about cs being a „serious asset market“ u fuckin moron, its a fucking game

I believe the new CS update is extremely harmful to the average player while providing ZERO unique benefit, here's why:
If you disagree, please discuss below
1) Sellers will now have to wait 7 days to get paid, while buyers have to deal with trade reversals. The average player suffers heavily from this.
2) This HELPS scammers for trust scams (where scammers are convincing someone to trust them, via manipulation/SE), which make up the majority of scams;
Why? Sellers will wait 7 days to get paid, by the time they realize they got scammed, the scammer can transfer / sell the items and never have to worry about a steam ban. It also opens up a whole new avenue of scams, people reversing trades after getting paid. Many people will fall victim to this over the next weeks.
3) The ONLY scenario where this helps, is with API scams and account hijacks. But these are both extremely easily preventable by Valve
- For API scams, change the current tiny text warning to a multiple page warning explaining how to check steam level + name
- For account hijacks, add Face ID/PIN codes for every trade
These two simple changes could immediately provide all the benefit of this update without the huge downsides. Why have Valve never done this before?
4) Trade refunds open up HUGE potential for market manipulation and undermines CS as a serious asset market, again hurting the average player
I'd encourage anyone to email the CS team and Gaben here to express your concerns about this update.

Disclaimer: People will dismiss my points because they think I'm just worried about my job. Sure - but only because it hurts the game and the players first. I want CS to thrive. If it dies, I lose too. That doesn’t invalidate the criticism.
I have done a lot of scam prevention work in the community, this is more of the same.

Todays update makes CS2 trades reversible for 7 days. This is probably the biggest skin trading change since the introduction of the 7 day trade hold. We will probably see big changes in the way marketplaces work, how insta-cashout sites work and how traders handle payouts.
