What began as Colombo Radio later became Radio Ceylon, and today, the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation - a voice that has connected generations. For millions in #India 🇮🇳 Radio Ceylon was more than radio. From the 1950s to the 1970s, families tuned in faithfully to hear #Hindi film songs, countdowns, and familiar voices that shaped everyday life. Iconic programmes like Binaca Geetmala, hosted by the legendary Ameen Sayani, became part of shared memories across borders. A century on, SLBC remains a powerful symbol of the deep cultural bond between Sri Lanka and India, and of radio’s unique ability to unite people through sound, music, and stories. 🎉 Congratulations to SLBC on 100 remarkable years! 🙌
