@radioactivered Don't forget eaxh wind turbine uses 80 gallons of oil each year.
English

Unlike nuclear which produces a small, highly contained waste stream that is tracked and stored safely for the long term, wind turbines create massive composite blades that currently have no widely adopted recycling solution. Most end up in landfills, taking up space for decades and while other parts like steel and copper can be recycled, the sheer volume of materials needed for turbines (especially for large wind farms) creates a significant environmental burden. Wind turbines can also pose a threat to wildlife like birds and bats that sometimes will collide with the spinning blades, leading to injury or death.
Nuclear waste is challenging but concentrated and engineered to be isolated, whereas wind turbine disposal is diffuse, growing and largely unsolved.
Also, smoke does NOT come from a cooling tower like that. Good morning, you’re already the radiophobe of the day, congrats.☢️

@TechOperator One drive. Ever since it came out, it has always failed me in every possible way.

@BreannaMorello As far as I can see, the federal government can limit itself. Federal workers can chose to have their free speech or be part of the government that limits itself. Rarely will those two coincide.
English

🚨LAWSUIT🚨
Two former FBI special agents filed a lawsuit against FBI Director Kash Patel in federal court after being fired for their involvement in "Arctic Frost."
The agents say their terminations violated their rights to free speech and due process.
They received no hearing, no investigation, and no claims of poor performance.
They allege the firings came after public pressure from Trump and his supporters, who called agents like them "corrupt actors" and "total Scum."
Both agents have had trouble finding new jobs because the termination letters bar them from executive branch work.
The agents are asking the court to reinstate them.

@rushicrypto They are lying. They take in about 6x their operating costs each year. They are RICH.

@Shirinsmit Not washing hands after using the bathroom. I mean seriously. It's almost 3 out of 5 people!
English

@Nithya_Shrii Farmers can be replaced by AI. They actually have had the framework for it for over a decade now.

@caffinevampony Work. Got back from a promotion test. I feel I did fairly good. Expecting about 70-75% on both tests.
English

@ChrisJBakke It might be AI, but in the UK, they normally have their clothes washer in the kitchen (or even bathroom) and they are all-in-one units. No swapping loads. Put it in, start, it washes and dries in one go.
English

You will live in the AI slop apartment. Your clothes washer will be under your kitchen sink. You have no dryer. There's wood paneling on the walls for some reason. You will smile at the candle that is burning 4 inches away from your 24 foot tall curtains. You pay $20,000/mo and can't access the stairs up to your shitty loft bedroom. There is no bathroom. You will be happy.

@tedlieu It literally says at the bottom: "Geneva Conventions Identification Card"
English

@tedlieu Fun fact: a CAC (military ID as some call it) is an international ID card, not a US federal ID.
English

I served on active duty for 4 years and 21 years in the reserves. My military ID let me go to sensitive locations, like a military base.
Under the SAVE Act’s insane requirements, a military ID does not allow an American to vote.
Rep. Ted Lieu@RepTedLieu
Not opposed to voter ID laws, just stupid voter ID laws. The SAVE Act is insane.
English

@Pudgy_Clown @Argona0x I've actually started using it for finding regulations for OSHA, military documents, and other safety regulations. Then I go to the sources and verify it's accurate. I use it as a modern Wikipedia source section (before it went to shit)
English

@Argona0x That’s a wild outcome from just one prompt. Do you think AI will start replacing basic legal review?

my landlord raised my rent by $400 so i fed my entire lease to claude
it found a clause that means he owes me $6,200 in overcharges going back 18 months
his lawyer confirmed it yesterday
i wasn't even mad about the increase. i just wanted to see what claude would pull from 47 pages of legal text i never actually read
pasted the full lease and said "find anything that violates california rent stabilization law"
it came back in 90 seconds
→ flagged a habitability clause tied to maintenance obligations he never fulfilled
→ cross-referenced AB 1482 statewide caps + local RSO limits going back to 2023
→ found he applied a 6.1% increase when AB 1482 capped it at 5% + CPI (4% max under LA County RSTPO for 2024)
→ calculated cumulative overcharges across 18 billing cycles
→ cited Civil Code §1947.12 (AB 1482 penalties up to 3x overcharge for willful violations) + local RSO municipal code tying habitability breaches to withheld increases
→ drafted a demand letter with line-by-line breakdowns
ran the clause extraction through legal-bert and it hit 92% confidence on the payment term violations
sent the demand letter to his property management company on a tuesday
by the following thursday his lawyer called and said "the numbers check out"
total cost: one prompt and a 47-page pdf
i lived in that apartment for three years and never once read past page 4
my rent increase was $400, my refund check is $6,200
i'm keeping the apartment

@Rainmaker1973 Never underestimate the stupidity of people. I doubt everyone knows of the danger these hold. Worse are those who do and think they can try and hold it hostage. Imagine if one does get taken. What can you do if they show up near a port?
English

@myles_premium_ Easy. Signal blockers. Those have such tiny battery life, they can't usually make a return trip. No signals getting out? No data for them.
English

It's so over man. How do you stop this infiltrating a military base?
