Electricity produced from biomethane isn’t really going to insulate anyone from geopolitical price swings unless there’s also a proposal to end the current system of marginal pricing.

Average petrol price in NI was £1.53 last week according to @ConsumerCouncil . That’s up more than 25p a litre since early March. Diesel was at £1.86, up more than 50p a litre since March.

A couple of numbers to keep in mind, via the @IEA - during the pandemic in 2020 global oil demand fell by c9m barrels per day compared to 2019. That reflected almost total shut down in aviation & hugely reduced driving.
The Iran war has removed c11m barrels per day.

@ParcoPorta @JP_Biz @IEA Government has already reduced excise on petrol and diesel. High taxes on fuel help to keep us off increased dependency on oil that comes from unstable regions, not to mention how polluting it is.

It is possible to call out a Genocide in Gaza, call out Hamas, call out anti-semitism, call out the IRGC, Houthis, call out Trump & Netanyahu and their illegal war and also want Iranians to live in peace free from oppression. None of that is mutually exclusive to me. My work reflects all of that, not some of it. All of it. If that draws criticism, so be it. But please be accurate.
