Hawaii state government is pretty much the most corrupt in the country: they do not publish floor roll call votes so you have no way of knowing how your legislator voted on each piece of legislation.

Almost certain career-ending party switch in the Hawaii House. State Rep. Elle Cochran (Maui) is a Democrat-turned-Republican and represents a Harris +16 seat (she ran behind Harris's margin by 3 pts). The switch is due to her frustrations with the DEM House Caucus

IMO now that we are at the halfway point in early voting in VA, I think the answer to "is there frontloading because the ballot is simple" question is a likely "no." We've been over 100% of 2025 same-day-equivalent turnout for the past week and the other days were 97%+. This means we are in for blockbuster turnout, likely higher than 2025. 53-60% RV turnout is the range I'm at now.

If you’re just using L2 data for this, you have to explain how it is possible that the electorate is both bluer than 2025, but that turnout is clearly higher in red areas and lower in blue ones. The only plausible explanation is that rural democrats are driving it, but that strains credulity, as you’d need to explain why Dems in hardcore dem areas surrounded by red areas, like Albemarle l, aren’t also coming out in droves. It’s one thing to have data, it’s a completely different beast to actually understand it…
