@thereisnobeth I've only played the old SW D20 system, & Edge of Empire. Of those two, Edge of Empire is way better.

You'll see proper hobbyists show off their work and compliment Rad for his paint job and technique. Meanwhile the locusts are down there tossing their favorite word like it's running out of fashion. Do they actually show off models though? Of course not, are you stupid?

This isn't some historical Wargame where people get shitty if you use the wrong shade of blue/grey for your WW1 French uniforms. 'Because it's fun' or 'I like the look' is reason enough. Creativity reigns supreme.

@HighMHellbrech @MachDominus I paint miniatures in a bunch of diferent themes, often chosen by my twitch supporters. Here's a Gundam themed squig rider for AoS. People can and should paint there minis however they like.

@InsaneMonkey101 Every paint range has its own strengths and weaknesses, so it's impossible to say 'these are the best/only paints you'll need'. KK are a great tool in my kit, & I get good use out of them.

@InsaneMonkey101 I use the Kimera paints for a few different things - I really like their violet, blue, & green paints, and the red/orange/yellow ones are really vibrant & great for magma effects. The strength/weakness is that they're single pigment paints, so you'll need to mix your own tones.

WIP. Custodes rocking the ancient Terran heraldry of Pride. I'm loving the new TMM metallics from Vallejo. Very vibrant. What Warhammer are you painting at the moment?

@CommanderFemUnc I'm a fan of Legio Solaria - their colour scheme is dope (mottled/marble green/white), and I like their lore (by tradition their knight pilots are mostly women, after their founder was exiled for having the AUDACITY to compete & defeat the other aspiring nobles on a Knight world)

It was nice building another skitarii marshal, the previous one I made was one of my first admech minis when I started the army years ago Incidentally they both lean a little into the different skitarii styles, the hooded rangers vs the armoured vanguard

@InsaneMonkey101 Love it! Sallys are such a fun chapter. Best way (I've found) to get really smooth blends is glazing, but be warned: it takes a while. I usually start with a basic wet blend, then glaze the mid tones back and forth to make it smoother. The KK paints I mentioned work well 4 it.

@RealRadHom I’m happy with the work I’ve done it’s just a pet peeve of mine that I want to work on.

@InsaneMonkey101 For the squig, I glazed in the shadows using contrast paint. The hardest transition to get smooth is yellow-to-green.

@InsaneMonkey101 Like anything else, it's down to practice. The paints I used for the rainbow were Kimera Kolors single pigment paints. Technique-wize it was blending, glazing, & then stippling over the top (to try and get a velvet like effect). This squig shows the blending effect:
