@LollDoll3 @SuitablePolitic If I had been open to a democrat, as a former military member, this is the single issue that would have prevented me from voting for that hag. .@HillaryClinton

@SuitablePolitic This is why I will never forgive or forget what happened in Benghazi. President Obama and Secretary Clinton bear stains on their souls from abandoning our people.

Apparently, this needs to be explained to people. I'm actually shocked that I have to write this.
For one, as people have said, America is a country of true warriors and "no man left behind" wasn't sloganeering. The morale this creates is worth the weight of destroyed aircrafts in gold. It is the lifeblood of American might. The ultimate source of its power.
Additionally, and perhaps more importantly, we do it because we can. And because we want our enemy to know we can.
A prisoner of war is supposed to bring value to the country who received the POW.
They're supposed to be able to leverage the aggrieved government for all manner of concessions in a negotiated release.
That's what happens when you face a normal country in war.
When you face America, you don't even get to fantasize about that. We will send the best killers on the planet to lay waste to your entire country until we forcibly extract our man.
Do you not understand how psychologically destabilizing that is?
These people spend hours trying to prove their abilities in combat to Americans via AI videos.
And we just launched an operation so grand that it scarcely makes sense... all to rescue two men.
That's why you blow up a couple planes if it means saving 2 pilots.

@PDXReal1 The bigger question is: why would anyone want to continue doing business or living in or near downtown Portland? .@TinaKotek It's a dangerous, lawless shithole that deserves nothing but flat out desertion.

Here is a list of fees the city of Portland has either adopted or proposed within the last year:
1) A roughly 50% increase in parking fees, including extending metered hours from 7 PM to 10 PM. The proposal also adds a per-transaction surcharge—referred to as a “Climate and Equitable Mobility Fee”—of $0.20 when using parking apps.
2) A proposed Transportation Utility Fee, which could add approximately $150 per year for homeowners, aimed at addressing the deteriorating condition of Portland’s streets.
3) Increases to Temporary Street Use Fees, meaning businesses would pay more whenever they block off parking spaces, lanes, or streets. These fees are expected to rise 3% to 5% annually.
4) A proposed “streaming service” fee, intended—according to its proponent, Jamie Dunphy—to encourage residents to leave their homes and attend live events in Portland.
5) A proposed increase to the Portland Arts Tax, intended to generate additional funding for nonprofit organizations. This is yet another Commission Dunphy proposal.
6) A third Dunphy proposal, along with his DSA buddy, Sameer Kanal, proposed a “vacancy fee” targeting downtown property owners, penalizing long-term vacant commercial spaces, with escalating fines based on duration of vacancy.
7) Park usage fees increased by approximately 10%.
8) Water and utility service fees are expected to rise by roughly 8% and 5%, respectively.
9) Additional increases are being considered for permits and short-term rental platforms such as Airbnb and VRBO.
10) And finally, highway tolling remains on the table in the Portland metro area. Governor Tina Kotek announced a moratorium on tolling early in her term in 2023, but her administration has identified 2026 as a potential time to revisit the idea.
These are not even an exhaustive list. With the municipality of Portland being either the highest or second highest taxed in the country, how are these increases supposed to help residents and businesses afford to exist here?

Hard NO on the Dignity Act.
An insult to every struggling US grad, drowning in debt.
Barefoot Student@BarefootStudent
@ChristianHeiens The dignity act would staple green cards to diplomas. A nightmare for every American college student and the end of the university system for young Americans. As bad as it is, it can get worse.

@RepJeffries don't lie- it's head start they want to cut because we don't need our children being indoctrinated by the government any sooner than they already are.

Former Portland city council member and ex-mayoral candidate Rene Gonzalez @reneforportland, a moderate who faced violent attacks by Antifa and far-left extremists, has filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against Portland Auditor Simone Rede and Deputy Auditor Reed Brodersen.
An Oregon court found their office violated Gonzalez’s due process rights during the 2024 mayoral race when they punished and fined him without giving him an opportunity to respond to their allegations of campaign finance rules being broken.
The local leftist media smeared Gonzalez at the time. ngocomment.com

When you have to say, “it’s not amnesty,” it’s usually amnesty
Heritage Action@Heritage_Action
The Dignity Act is a mass amnesty bill. No amount of bureaucratic hoops will change that.
