There's a Chinese high school teacher who seems to have a pretty good handle of on what's going on. He gets a few details wrong but by and large his appraisal of what's going on in the world I think is dead on balls accurate which is interesting considering he's an atheist and he describes the eschatologies that are taking place in the world better than I've ever heard a devout Christian do. So your logic is correct if the Roman Catholic Church was founded by Jesus and had not gone astray you would need to be a Roman Catholic to follow him. The problem is the Roman Catholic Church was not founded by Jesus that is a historical fiction that nobody outside of the Roman Catholic Church actually believes. And then of course the Roman Catholic Church also has gone astray. The doctrines that the Roman Catholic Church that make it uniquely Roman Catholic as opposed to Christian or satanic the Roman Catholics in practice and in theology are the opposite of what the Bible teaches on many specific topics therefore it cannot possibly be a church founded by Christ. Jesus says call no man father and he means that specifically in a religious way. Pope means father. Priests are all called father. Timothy says leaders in the church are supposed to be married with good families. Catholic Church requires its priests to be celibate. The Bible gives a death penalty for necromancy. The Catholic church has its followers giving prayers to Mary and the Saints which is necromancy. Jesus says all that the father gives to me will come to me and I will raise them up on the last day. The Roman Catholic Church has all kinds of things that have to be done in order to achieve salvation. So the thing you need to understand about the Roman Catholic Church is that it is a clever satanic deception.

You know that was the majority view of all of the Protestant reformers and it really wasn't until the 1800s that Protestants started softening that stance. And the church certainly hasn't changed any of its doctrine in fact it's actually got worse. What is so interesting about that is that it's about the same period in history that Zionism reared its ugly head that suddenly Protestants were like oh Roman Catholics are just other Christians when for the previous 500 years the Protestants were saying openly that Roman Catholicism was a satanic deception.

Someone asked me via DM what led me to Catholicism and I wrote this. I hope it helps others! “So…I grew up Southern Baptist too, in a pretty controlling environment, and honestly saw a lot of hypocrisy growing up. That kind of set me on a long path of questioning, especially as I worked through trauma and life stuff. I went through an agnostic phase because I kept asking questions and the only answers I got were basically, “the Bible says it, that settles it.” That wasn’t enough for me. I needed something intellectually honest. So I started digging. Apologetics, history, philosophy… looking at the case for God, for Christ, all of it. That brought me back to belief, but I still wasn’t settled. I spent time in Reformed/Presbyterian circles too. What really shifted things was when I started seriously studying Church history… like, what actually happened during the Reformation, who Luther was, what was going on culturally and politically. And then reading the early Church Fathers. That was the turning point. When I saw that what the early Christians believed and practiced looked a lot more like Catholicism than anything I had known, I couldn’t unsee it. I still have questions, I’m still learning, but my faith in Christ has deepened more than it ever was before. And I bring my questions to Him, not away from Him. If you’re feeling that emptiness, I’d just say… follow it honestly. Don’t ignore it. Look into the history for yourself. You know the new pope just recently made a speech about how the Roman Catholic Church needs to be nicer to pedophile priests. I was actually shocked about it because they're not even trying to hide it anymore. Now I don't know how you could possibly be any nicer than covering it up because right now the current church policy is as long as the victim hasn't gone to the police they pay the victim off make them sign a non-disclosure agreement and transfer the priest out. Anyway the speech was available on YouTube I was pretty appalled by what I heard. Of course he also blessed the block of ice to protect it from global warming....

I seriously doubt that. What you have to understand about the Roman Catholic Church is that the reason they say that their official rule of faith and practice is tradition and a scripture is because large portions of the things that they do either cannot be found in the Bible or are the opposite of what the Bible says. The arguments between the Protestant founders and the Roman Catholics during the Reformation era was not what the Bible said they actually agreed on what the Bible said the argument was about whether or not the church had the authority to override what the Bible says with tradition. Remember what Luther said at his trial Unless I am convinced by sacred scripture or evident reason I cannot recant my mind is held captive by the word of God I can do no other. The papists said we have our tradition and we gave you the Bible and therefore we have authority to put our traditions over the Bible and then the pope ordered Luther killed. So believe me the Roman Catholic Church knows what the Bible says they don't like what it says and that's the bottom line.

So the page I'm on is I don't throw out verses because all verses need to be understood in their proper context which means you need to read the paragraph and usually you need to read the whole book. My hermeneutics is sound I take verses that are clear and use them to interpret versus that are vague. When Jesus says something that is clear that has precidents over everything else in the Bible. And I don't read theology books and I don't care what the church fathers say all I care about is if it's in the Bible and it's Crystal clear I believe it. If it's in the Bible and it's not crystal clear and there's more than one way you can figure something out that I'm not dogmatic about it. Also I have to pee
