I have no idea how long I am going to be here for. I have a Septic Pulmonary Embolism, my PICC-line got infected with Staph and the rest is history. I had no idea how dangerous this was, and without the fever I would have never known or come back to the hospital the day after discharge. I’m truly blessed to be alive. There is so much suffering and I just don’t have the strength to pray, I am truly sad about my health and after years it’s increasingly hard to remain faithful. Please pray for me, I am afraid.

Allow me to explain how ADHD works. While watching daily mass, the camera panned to a painting of Christ on the cross. Mind: Hey, that looks like the same color of blue El Greco uses in his painting. Take a picture of and send it to @disciple96. Just rewind it and take a picture. Me: Shhhh! Mind: Did you see that stained glass? I think a small 10" x 10" piece of stained glass just showing Jesus' hand nailed to the cross would be neat. Maybe you could attach the copper to the glass and make the nail out of solder. Me: uh, uh, . . . and with your spirit. Mind: Did you see the purple fabric? Maybe ask Tim (son) if his friend would make a jacket out of the purple fabric you bought that you saw on CatholicTV Mass. Mind: You know you didn't finish putting the Crucifix on the frame with the fabric. Plus you cut the fabric the wrong way. Me: What was I doing?

The Catholic priest at the church I had been attending just emailed me. He said he is still willing to work with me toward full communion. He has found a sponsor for me named Tom, and he wants to see consistency from me before moving forward. The original plan was for the Easter Vigil, but with less than two weeks left, that is no longer realistic. He now wants to aim for Pentecost Sunday as the target date for me to enter full communion and receive the sacraments. This message came out of the blue, and I am praying seriously about whether I truly want to do this.

@Ectobass @UcheMaryOkoli I think the OP means, we don’t choose Catholicism because of men but because of Christ. You both have a point. But for one’s Catholicism to rely on man, any man, instead of Christ would be disastrous when the inevitable disappointment comes. My take anyway. 👍

@UcheMaryOkoli @disciple96 We are Catholics because of a priest. The priest who baptized us, the priest who heard our confession, the priest who concecrates the Eucharist and offers us Holy Communion. Without the sacraments, you are not Catholic. Without a priest, there are no sacraments.

I am bringing this video back as a reminder: We are not Catholics because of the Pope or any priest. We are Catholics because of JESUS CHRIST. Christ is the foundation of our faith. Not personalities. Not emotions. Not convenience. So no, A bad priest is not an excuse. A weak Bishop is not an excuse. A corrupt Pope is not an excuse. A “boring” homily is not an excuse. None of these are reasons to walk away from the Church Christ Himself established. If you are Catholic, be Catholic for the right reason, and that reason is, JESUS CHRIST.

@ck33408 @MatthewDePra @CharlesTingler Why leave the Church? You could leave a parish if you must, but not the entire Church over the actions of some. Just an idea, a way forward: You could ask someone to sponsor them, maybe doesn’t have to be chosen by the parish or end up being anyone from the parish.

@MatthewDePra @CharlesTingler We left the Catholics. I didn't have anyone to sponsor my kids. However, the Catholic Church didn't care, b/c they were too busy sponsoring the Guatemalans brought into the US by govt grants. Catholic Church has become a business. And the Guatemalans latermade their own church

@RaymondArroyo All large gatherings have been canceled. This is not a targeting of Christians, the reality is that it would be a nightmare if thousands of pilgrims would be hit by rockets. Several missles have already hit the area. It would be a mass casualty event.

Do you, a Protestant, and I, a Catholic, have virtually identical doctrine/teachings on baptism, marriage, what the Church is, the Communion of Saints, the Eucharist, or the books of the Bible? Is it really so clear?

@KeithKalinowsk1 @MrCasey62 If me a Protestant, and you a Catholic have virtually an identical confession of faith regarding sexual morality (because yes scripture is just that clear) why then should I entertain those who don't even submit to that basic theology as examples of my faith?? Absurd.
