@SteneLarry @BradWestPoCo They put high density population development into the pre-existing industrial area, knowing the risk. The risk mitigation strategy appears to be to shut down the plant.

I often hear municipal colleagues decry the lack of seriousness with which they’re treated by provincial & federal governments - and then they make decisions like this. Chemtrade produces the vast majority of the chlorine used for water purification in western Canada & was subject of a disinformation campaign by an American rival. If our country ever wants to stand on its own two feet, we must have places for critical industries to operate. I would welcome Chemtrade, and the hundreds of family-supporting jobs they produce, to Port Coquitlam.
