The question is who should immediately go with the other people to the overpass, and who should get the dog. Neither act is supposed to result in death.
Only Johnathan dies though, because he gets stuck and doesn't have the strength to free himself.
If he had gone ahead and Clark gotten the dog , both would have been fine. Sending the old man along while letting the invulnerable being deal with the riskier situation is common sense - something the movie lacked.

Its not about what Clark can do its about what he should do. He should listen to his father and reveal himself when hes needed most.

BvS is about a Year Two Superman learning to accept and deal with the unintended consequences of his actions. Doomsday is the consequence of killing Zod. It's his responsibility. Superman would NEVER ask someone to take the hit for him. You don't know shit about Superman

@VandalMonkey @JoeMish3 Just because it’s his story in the movie doesn’t make it an accurate rendition of the character. Batman has to be depicted faithfully to how he is in the comics, which BvS didn’t do at all.

Literally no one knows what happens in a black hole so he doesn’t need to establish anything. You’re just wrong.

But Gunn didn't establish that black holes are anything other than massive forces of destruction. He can retcon that later if he likes, but until then the only conclusion is that Superman killed Ultraman.

Bizarro in the comic gets thrown into a black hole which sends him to the bizarro dimension. That’s what’s happening here. Ultraman isn’t dead. The only murdering Superman is cavill
