Open source is when the source is open. Simple as that. The license then determines what rights are given or reserved. The lion's share of my open source work is under MIT, the most permissive license. Love it. I've done none under GPL, because I don't need code dump charity.

Love how calling Fizzy open source is triggering some because our MIT-derived O'Saasy License reserves SaaS monetization rights to us as creators. Same nerds will demoan lack of "sustainable OSS" or argue that handing over all changes under GPL is akshually freedom. Hilarious.

@dhh I don't like cookie consents, but I understand their importance. Targeted advertising doesn't need to be banned, people need to understand what info about them is collected, who has access to it & what they can do about it. But this needs to be in the browser, like language.

Cookie banners have been a blight on the internet. Worse than the old scourge of pop-up advertisements! They need to die entirely. The idea has failed. Nobody reads any of it. If you want to ban targeted ads, do that. Let's see if the EU can correct, politico.eu/article/europe…

@FalkD21 Why exactly would you need yet another saas office suite? With NextCloud and Collabora you have a basis on which you can either self host or offer saas and premium additions. Internal coherence is nice but anything serious needs integration with a diverse eco system.
