Of the 30 hottest days ever recorded, no fewer than 21 have occurred THIS MONTH. Temperatures in July 2023 could well be the highest for 120,000 years. This story is the lead on the BBC website, 7th on The Times, 69th on The Daily Mail, & hasn’t yet been mentioned by The Sun.

@Dominos_UK hi. It’s not possible to customise a gluten free pizza to have vegan cheese when using your app or website. My wife is coeliac and dairy intolerant. Can this be added as an option? I can phone and request this but without benefiting from app-only deals. Thank you.

@hootsyhoots @HartleyRobinso6 @CyclingEdin @edtiss Dreadful infrastructure. I’ve had more near misses using the cycle path at piershill than anywhere else. The road is ironically much safer.

@CllrScottArthur I’m a cyclist, this will be my daily commute. Active travel is great. But this route planning just seems daft.

@CllrScottArthur In your video, 8 cars turn left. To go round the gyratory these cars would have to be in the right hand lane further up leith walk. There isn’t room. At the end of the video, one car makes it across and it looks like a second is about to partially block the junction.

Note - The lights currently switch between two phases. Allowing the left turn would mean that a third phase is needed (for pedestrians) - this would reduce the amount of vehicles passing through the junction per hour and lengthen the time pedestrians would have to wait.

Leith Walk/London Rd Update: 1. The 3 bollards installed today didn't have the anticipated impact. 2. The bollards will be maintained until a more robust set is installed (tomorrow at the latest). 3. A CEC camera will be used to report all apparent law breaking to the police. 1/

@KirklandLesley @theJeremyVine What’s the point of that loop? I can’t recall any accidents at that left turn. Is there an intended benefit of directing traffic into that gyratory?

This is completely lawless and ridiculous. You could get £10,000 fines in a day here — and they should.
No left turn; these drivers are going when pedestrians have a green man to cross. Nuts.
