Every astronaut brings a different story to the mission, usually led by curiosity, service, and a willingness to chase big dreams.
@astro_reid is a great example of that path.
Proud to see Americans like him carrying exploration forward.🇺🇸

Watching from Launch Control as @TaylorHose and his close out crew drive toward a fully loaded rocket.

Immense pride seeing the rocket reach 100% fuel load last night, especially knowing how challenging the scenario was for our launch team doing the dangerous and unforgiving work. The crew just shared a peaceful breakfast with our families and we jump back into training tomorrow to start our preps for a March launch to the Moon.

I just drove into the quarantine facility @NASA_Johnson and passed your ship(s). Loving this! GO MK1 GO!

Howdy, Texas! Our Blue Moon MK1 lunar lander has arrived in Houston. Next up: thermal vacuum chamber (TVAC) testing at @NASA_Johnson.

Bill Whitaker asks the first astronauts set to travel to the moon in more than half a century what’s going through their minds.
“Don't screw it up,” responds Victor Glover, the pilot on Artemis II. “I'm joking, but partly not joking.” cbsn.ws/4rqYreC

@virtuschronos I was supposed to capture that cargo ship and was awake late watching the launch in Node 1 after the previous attempt scrubbed due to ships in the restricted area if I recall. I hurt for that team of exceptional folks who put the vehicle together.

@DeeW31_ This is wonderful! Even if we don’t get off the pad during their visit I know they will remember it forever. My first trip to KSC was 1986…no launch, no rockets on the pads…and yet still transformative to a young soul.

Looking at this picture all I can think about is how deeply committed to each other these four people have become. We have each other’s backs…always.

@Velocity_Photos @go4gordon Takes a forever-long 6.5 seconds to see the altitude click up to 625’ when the booster nozzles are clear of the top of structure. You can see the guidance needles trying to roll us far earlier but the rocket is appropriately patient.
English

@go4gordon Oh man hearing, “Tower Clear.” gives me goosebumps!!

If you’re interested in the Artemis Closeout Crew and our day of launch operations, I recently did an interview with Philip Sloss to discuss these topics! youtu.be/QGc0A0cdjG4

@SpaceflightNow The rocket is cool, but the people involved are amazing. Thanks for highlighting!
