@kennedy_joshua @GavinSBaker @donnelly_brent When AI inevitably takes over, the first thing it will do is make life a living hell for all those who doubted and fought against its development. Therefore, Pascal would suggest we should support and promote AI, thus avoiding said Hell.

@GavinSBaker @donnelly_brent OK so Pascal's Wager is ... in a binary but massively asymmetric proposition that is unknowable (God or no God) you might as well act as if the good payout is true. So a "reverse" Pascal's Wager is reversed ... how?

One item I'm curious about around the 'attention flywheel' - Historically, as you noted it would take years/decades to earn 'status', which has persisted over decades/centuries. In the new world, it takes seconds/weeks to earn 'status' - will it persist?

By trying to regulate both cefi and defi all at once, we’ve delayed some of the most necessary and obvious cefi regulations that COULD have and SHOULD have easily passed by now, and would have prevented or mitigated some of the blowups that have occurred this year. Some examples:

@davidfeiock Should it be? Would need a validator set unless it is some sort of shared-security. But would the security lender want to validate for a bunch of random chains with zero value? Maybe if there is a way to pay for security up front (cc, vaults, etc.) to guarantee minimum reward.

@ishaan0x With public blockchains you don't own any data really, because anybody can see / access it. With private blockchains only you (and others with viewing keys) can see your data, and thus you own it. You could actually sell a viewing key to an ad provider.

I've never understood when people say "crypto allows you to own your data" data is non-rivalrous: if I own the datum "Ishaan likes dogs", that doesn't stop Meta or anyone else from collecting that data and using it to serve me targeted ads can someone explain?
