This interview is a bad look for @VirginMediaNews. It’s like the brief to Colette Fitzpatrick was three words long - ‘Take her down.’ Nothing about policy or looking forward. 30 minutes discussing accusations. Dreadful stuff. #TheBigInterview

@micrabam @VirginMediaNews Correct - voters are entitled to know the details. And Colette Fitzpatrick was right to ask them. But to spend the entire interview just going through accusations was poor journalism IMO. Could've had one or two more general questions.

@colmhanratty @VirginMediaNews Is actually important to see how a person running for president responds to adversity, how they respond to tough questions etc. It's the highest office representing the country, a candidate's character, history and opinions are hugely important.

Just think the interview could've done with a question like 'Why should the people of Ireland vote for you?' or 'Why should you be president?' Don't remember questions like that being asked.

The questions she deflects from are decisions/policies she has applied in her life. They need to be answered to see future policies. Just answer.

Too often Irish politicians are let away with that by the media. We just aren't used to seeing them being held to account properly. Proper interviewer.

@colmhanratty @VirginMediaNews Great interview - she was asked straight questions ....has consistently refused to answer them- deflects & dodges. About time an interviewer followed up when she didn't answer it was same on RTE yesterday. When CC is put under pressure to answer she can't or won't.
