@L1am_Crypto Not to mention anytime you ban or restrict something, you move the product and regulation from the public sector to the black market. That decreases quality, increases risk, spikes prices, and you still did very little to curb consumption. In other words it doesn't work.

Sorry Rory, but "Xi was always determined to develop self sufficiency in chips" is a patently absurd statement. No leader of any country can decide this, it is a technology and market problem that cannot be mandated by anybody. It is also a completely wrong assertion in any case.

@valeyo I saw this pattern on the wall quite a while back. Its gonna take years for retail to return after being burned by inflation and deep losses on previous investments

I think part of the reason TVL is so low for non ETH ecosystems is that retail actually has very little capital, and institutions + HNI do not care about ETH transaction fees, its simply cost of doing business to access the deepest liquidity and highest volume. Terra is an obvious exception however most capital came from insitutional investment and buying + ust printer go brrrr. I think any new low transaction fee meta like rollups et al do not actually have retail adoption to the level the numbers would make it appear, its actually predominantly vcs and institutions investing and anticipating growth - subsidizing TVL and volume to attract the former. The only true low transaction - mass retail adoption exception I can name, and it hurts me, but it’s TRON. Their only product being USD on the blockchain with no added cross-border transaction fees, but in emerging markets and asia thats good enough. Product market fit doesn’t have to be hard. Crypto has a tendency to make products complex because it attracts us to create novel ideas, but retail is actually attracted to simplicity, ironically enough. Don’t get me wrong, many financial primitives and markets are complex for a reason, but blockchains killer usecase beyond the creation of such in a decentralised manner is allowing easy use without sacrificing on security and accessibility. We’re getting there, step by step :)

@ph_lux Yes mate, thats why its important to either: A) Participate in voting to override the validator B) Choose a validator you are in ideological agreement with and let them vote Or a bit of both!

@Cryptocito What was the result of your thesis? As the RMB isnt freely floated and the govt involve themselves in the domestic stock market I would argue it can never fully replace other currencies.

In late 2020, I wrote my bachelor thesis about the race for the next Global Reserve currency and that it's between #Bitcoin and the Yuan. The professor I wrote it with now invited me to host an online session about Crypto and what I do. Going full circle ⭕️
