Yesterday, one of our senior researchers presented our updated paper on the Sassafras protocol at ACNS 2025- cheers to that! This novel single-leader election (SSLE) protocol, which outperforms any other SSLE design, provides resilience against DDoS attacks, a relaxed form of leader anonymity, and low communication and computational complexity, making it highly efficient for block production and ideal for deployment.

I'm reading The Technological Republic By Palantir's Alex Karp and one of the many quotes I love is: "For some of them, the order of society and the relative safety and comfort in which they live are the inevitable consequence of the American project, not the result of a concerted and intricate effort to defend a nation and its interests. Such safety and comfort were not fought for or won. For many, the security we enjoy is a background fact or feature of existence so foundational that it merits no explanation." The men and women defending our nation and our way of life deserve our respect and support. @coinbase is based and ahead of the curve on cultural issues yet again.

Coretime Baron claims to have acquired 2 cores for 92 DOT each in the last sale. He also has 9 cores with a renewal fee of 9 DOT each. Total holdings: 11 of the 20 available Polkadot cores and 73 of the 94 Kusama cores 😬 The next round will start at 920 DOT per core, so Coretime Baron is offering his loot at a negotiable price. According to forum discussions, the expected price is around 500 DOT. He's also offering Kusama cores, but only as a full set of 12 cores for 800 KSM, with no individual core sales. Apparently, it’s only for those who want a gigachad rollup with 0.5s block time. STONKS! Should’ve aped in there, not into coins. 😂

The Coretime Baron is one of the worst business people we've ever seen in Polkadot. With every opportunity to make honest money in the transition to a more efficient market... The baron instead opted to 35,000x the previous sale for a quick payday framed as a "fair price" in the spirit of the free market 😂 Instead Voters stepped in to add to the supply side & bypass this attempted grift.
