@laurdemboss @LuftkoppTim Take it from someone who has actually used this in the past with jailbreak tweaks, it’s not very useful.
English

@LuftkoppTim Its very useful in some scenarios. Didn't give much thought into this tweet did you? Its good to have more features, even ones that you think are dumb
English

Both apps are literally unusable in this "mode".
The Notes app doesn't let you make a new note etc and the Messages app doesn't show what contact you're even texting with.
Split screen on phones is and always will be dumb

iOS split view concept 🤌

What happens when you start mass replacing Objective-C with SwiftUI across the system. Apple sacrificed usability and stability across their platforms for the sake of nothing 🤢

@Dayanch96 and if 4K isn’t available, it just ends up just downloading the largest version
English

@Dayanch96 Nice, this is what I’ve been doing: (and apologizes in advanced for not just sharing it as a link, the app doesn’t let me do that if I don’t use iCloud docs 🥲)

English

@dosdude1 @SnazzyLabs What was so astonishing was just how much of an improvement it was over iOS 5 in every aspect, only to be completely undone with iOS 7; which was the biggest downgrade of all time
English

@SnazzyLabs It was all downhill from here. iOS 6 remains my all-time favorite version of iOS, and no version released since has topped it. So unfortunate I can’t daily it anymore. Maybe one day, when I have time to write custom iOS 6 compatible clients for all the services I use, I will.

Sorta called it. I’ve had a feeling it was all for an alternative to Adobe creative cloud.

🗞️Nebulo 2.1 rolled out a major update on iOS, adding multi-view playback, a rebuilt AVKit-based player, smarter EPG handling, and a sports-focused view for live events on iPhone and iPad🚀

@rjonesy @ian_bruh1 Trust when I say that it does not, the only apps emitted from iCleaner are Apple’s apps themselves
English

@ian_bruh1 Agree. But also that is very solvable. And running out of device storage is something 90% of iOS users complain about.

@ShishirShelke1 the icon for Voice Memos is actually a recording of someone saying “Apple”
English

There’s an actual letter inside the paper emoji??? 📄
This is even crazier

Shishir@ShishirShelke1
Today I learned the Mail app icon has Apple Park’s address on it… how long has this been there 😭
English

@samhenrigold This is very cool! Also, you may interested to know that you can also take screenshots -> directly to your computer through developer services as well (pymobiledevice developer screenshot comes to mind)

While I’m waiting for this to get TestFlight approval, some findings from reverse engineering parts of this system:
- This uses the same method that QuickTime, Keynote uses. If you set kCMIOHardwarePropertyAllowScreenCaptureDevices, a connected device will appear as an AVCaptureDevice. Internally, the codename for this is “Valeria”
- “Nero” is the transport layer/protocol behind Valeria
- “Octavia” is the iOS-side HAL plugin (OctaviaHalogen.driver)
- On the phone, when Valeria activates, it calls SBSSetStatusBarShowsOverridesForRecording which forces the battery to 100%, the cell bars to full (funny enough it doesn’t handle dual SIMs so it forces the secondary to zero bars), and sets the time to 1168335660 (9:41 AM on Jan 9, 2007)
- On the Mac side, it uses a CoreMediaIO DAL plugin which is kinda decrepit and has quite a few bugs. It lacks P3/HDR support, it has some icky MPEG artifacts, it falls over when you rotate the device, it doesn’t tell you when the device is locked so it just keeps sending stale frames, etc etc
- The actual iOSScreenCaptureAssistant binary (/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreMediaIO.framework/Versions/A/Resources/iOSScreenCapture.plugin/Contents/Resources/) is the Nero client
- Someone re-implemented this a few years ago (github.com/danielpaulus/q…) but in 26, it got locked down with an entitlement. So now only Apple is allowed to claim the Valeria USB interface
- This is the bottleneck in requesting higher quality formats. Apple could update iOSScreenCaptureAssistant to send flags like H264DecoderSupports444 or HEVCDecoderSupports444 or HEVCDecoderSupports44410. But since it does not, we’re kinda stuck.
- There’s also wireless Valeria via APValeriaHelper* which is used for tvOS capture.
- iOS is littered with references to “SteveNote,” which got used during on-stage WWDC demos. Under the hood, it’s an enhanced Valeria with special settings. The headliners are: JPEG-based encoding with 4:4:4 chroma (no inter-frame compression artifacts), special voice processor latency presets since audio input on stage is a crapshoot, it handles rotations way better, there’s a HUD for settings, and it messes with power management so it doesn’t go to sleep. SteveNote mode is triggered when MGCopyAnswer says it’s an internal install and `/AppleInternal/Applications/Stevenote.app/Stevenote` is present

would this app be of use to any of you?
