@hunvreus 20 agents overnight=running unsupervised and generating slop mountain. Good AI usage is VERY dev intensive. Results are outstanding, but working harder than ever before. Agents doing irregular tasks = pilot leaving the controls and wondering why that mountain is getting close!

Talking to smarter folks than me, I'm convinced many of the AI folks in my timeline are full of shit. Nobody is "running 20 agents over night" and building stuff for actual users. Maybe some are building internal tools or disposable software. Maybe. But building software people like using? That doesn't get hacked on day one or blow up after the 3rd user? Nope. I don't even understand what that's supposed to look like. Do you work out a 57 pages document that perfectly describes what you want to build and then summon 14 agents and have them run wild for 6 hours? And what comes out on the other end isn't a broken pile of shit? Nope. Not buying it. PS: it may also be that I have an IQ of 82 and can't figure it out.

@srisha_permude @paraschopra Are you chatting to setup/configure openclaw itself? That's expensive API token burn. Use claude cli to configure/manage openclaw out of your sub, openclaw then only burns runtime tokens which claude can tune to the most appropriate/cost effective model.

I don’t get the OpenClaw hype Connecting Claude with Telegram / WhatsApp is trivially easy, you can literally ask it to help you do this and it’ll guide you. Same story with recurring jobs. I just did this - now Claude send me local bangalore news summary at 12pm IST daily on Telegram. Took me 15 mins to build. If the argument is that Claw lets nontech users do this, imagine the security implications when users let an LLM take over their system while having no idea what’s happening under the hood. Making custom scripts and workflows with Claude lets you at least know what you’re configuring on your system.

@dev_maims There's plenty of the software engineering landscape which AI doesn't cover - architecture, design, teamwork, customer interaction. They are also all loss-leading to jostle for position, when the real cost escalator begins it will curtail expansion.

@zuess05 Where are we on the curve? AI today is the WORST it will ever be - it only gets better from here (for a while at least, Moore's law?). Those claiming "old school engineering" may be swamped, only the token price escalator stands in the way.

Genuine question. Tech companies are laying off thousands of engineers, and the ones left behind are basically just reviewing AI-generated code. But what happens in 6 months when the AI stops making mistakes? If your entire $200k job has been reduced to proofreading Claude's output, what exactly are they paying you for?

@sickdotdev Claude and Codex have supercharged the abilities of my experienced, knowledgable devs and split new guys into 2 camps. Those with CS are surviving, those without are overwhelmed and sinking. CS degrees are the foundations of the build, otherwise your house is sitting on sand.

@anni_sen This is why they will lose in the long run to Google. They have no other business model/profit stream to subsidise the token burning with, so Google will undercut them at every turn. Just now they live on novelty and first to market but are bleeding real costs. They can't win.

@markjbear @OctopusEnergy @Alph4betSoup Worse, this is possibly a GDPR breach to use that users salt in this manner. Its bad practice and if any compliance auditing was taking place it should raise audit exceptions. Worst case they are handling known breached data. Red flags all over this.

@doctorginge @OctopusEnergy @Alph4betSoup That’s not how this works. When a breach happens, the passwords in the breach are made public. These can then be hashed by companies like Octopus (or, more typically, their auth provider) and these hashes are stored. When a user attempts sign in, password gets hashed & compared

@markjbear @OctopusEnergy @Alph4betSoup nope, modern password hashing uses a salt per user, so instead they would have to be hashing the leaked password with that users salt - almost as bad practice as cleartext, effectively hacking their own database. Not a valid practice.

@OctopusEnergy @Alph4betSoup HOW DO YOU KNOW? You are either storing or processing the cleartext password, rather than immediate hashing for comparison. Very Very Very bad IT practice.

@Alph4betSoup @OctopusEnergy also, @OctopusEnergy are either storing passwords in cleartext to compare to the breached list, or are taking pre-encrypted passwords, processing against this list at login time (just as bad). Do they claim ISO or SOC compliance because this would invalidate that certification

@Alph4betSoup @OctopusEnergy How would they know? It implies they are storing passwords in clear text (in order to be able to compare). This is VERY VERY bad practice. @OctopusEnergy are you storing passwords unencrypted? If you claim no, explain how you could make a comparison?

The craziest thing ever happened on YouTube. La7, an Italian television channel has used footage from Nvidia DLSS 5 Trailer and then sent a copyright strike to every YouTube video that supposedly used “their footage”, including Nvidia themselves. Nvidia’s own DLSS 5 announcement video has now been taken down by La7 as you can see here.

@TeamYouTube @DestinLegarie This is bullshit. The whole system is abused by bad actors and @TeamYouTube are complicit by their wilful ignorance. False claims should be treated in the same manner as actual infringements - 3 strikes and the claimant is perma banned from youtube,no exceptions!

To clarify, a Content ID claim is automatically generated when your content matches another vid in our Content ID system: goo.gle/4trHaTB Since you already submitted a dispute, the next step is to wait for the claimant to respond within 30 days. If they don't, the claim on your video will expire & be released: goo.gle/3OjcEMM Note that we don't mediate copyright disputes
