The author of the national anthem, Rabindranath Tagore, criticised aggressive, blind nationalism, not love for one’s country. Ironically, the same man wrote a national anthem and celebrated India’s civilizational identity. Maybe read him fully instead of cherry picking quotes. You didn’t choose your parents either. Does that mean loyalty to family is also a mental illness?

Problem you are mentioning is mostly class problem not caste problem. If this is accepted, then reservation should be based on who has more income and asset right? Poverty is not an excuse to be less successful. During 1970-80s, nobody had electricity, money. Our parents used to cross rivers to reach school. They had to read under street lights or with lanterns. Yet they studied, fought and got jobs out of sheer will and effort. In every successful family, you will find one person doing all the hard-work and bringing them out of poverty. No family is rich since the beginning. Neither Dhirubhai was rich nor SRK was rich. But their children won’t be poor because they didn’t let poverty to be an excuse to remain poor,
