Do we need to go over the edge before anything changes? 🤔 $38.4 trillion in debt $2 trillion per year budget deficit $1.2 trillion per year interest on the debt We give away $70 billion per year in foreign aid to other countries. We borrow all of it, so we are paying interest FOREVER on the $70 billion per year that we give away. We have given away over $3 trillion in foreign aid since WW2. It has all been added to the US national debt. That means we are now paying about $100 billion per year in interest payments on all of the money we have given away in the past 80 years.
