We don't have too many graduates; we have graduates who have degrees that aren't marketable. Universities forget who their customers are; it's businesses that need competent future employees. 85,000 H-1 B visas prove that universities need to do a better job of selling career opportunities to incoming freshmen, rather than 4-year 'explore yourself' degrees.

@Correct_Q @BigRichGuy @Timcast @jessmargera And they broke their own laws/rules in the process. They are mandated to have a 90-day 'waiting' period before a measure can be voted on, and early voting started before that window closed. I agree they had to do it logistically ... but the only way this passes is in April.

@kolemichael @BigRichGuy @Timcast @jessmargera I’m not confusing them, I’m simply pointing out that REGARDLESS of motivation (nefarious intent, increased chances, etc) They nonetheless LOGISTICALLY had to do it mid-season if they wanted the new maps to actually matter (ie, to change them BEFORE the election)

And Virginia was actually done legit by voting haha Texas & Carolina just did it all shady w no input from its citizens. Passing it all douchey in the middle of the night like freaks is a threat to democracy. Voting literally is democracy. Try to pay attention to our constitution
Billy Binion@billybinion

I'm not a fan of gerrymandering. But I'm still waiting for a convincing explanation for why it’s a “threat to democracy” when Democrats do it and mysteriously fine when Republicans do. The extremely blatant double standard is a bit much.

This was a no-brainer when you look at all the pluses on Miller compared to Freeling. Also, one more thing the chart overlooks: Another selling feature on Miller, he was a Tiger, becoming another member of the Cat family, is a natural extension - Freeling was a Bulldog ... may not have made the feline transition.

Correct Question@Correct_Q·
@kolemichael @BigRichGuy @Timcast @jessmargera If you accept that Ds in VA were trying to gain more D-congressional seats (forget whether it was “in response” to TX or not) Then BY DEFINITION they could not wait til November to redraw the map. Ergo to accomplish *their objective* they had to vote off-season.

@SenatorSlotkin What do you care? You voted to keep Homeland Security closed the same day a synagogue was attacked - Stop pandering - you are a hypocrite, and do not deserve your position. You only represent your voters, not the citizens of the Great State of Michigan.

Just yesterday, I met with Michigan Jewish leaders to discuss the increase in antisemitism and hate crimes like this. This awful incident in Oak Park, in addition to a similar incident in Sterling Heights, hits hard as people are still reeling from the attack on Temple Israel just over a month ago. While I know law enforcement is working to hold perpetrators accountable, I also know there is a real sense of fear in the Jewish community as these incidents increase. On the heels of the Temple Israel attack, I am thinking more broadly about the unfortunate rise in antisemitism and hate in America. When Jewish Americans are targeted because of actions taken by the Israeli Government, or because they happen to be Jewish, or based on a stereotype of Jews – that is antisemitism. It lumps all Jews together and uses collective punishment to target a group because of their religion. I have seen too many people online casually engaging in this kind of antisemitic stereotyping who would be horrified to be called racists or bigots against any other religious or ethnic group.  Collective stereotyping and blaming Jews as a group for all kinds of global ills has been normalized — and that normalization has lowered the bar for acts of vandalism and violence against the Jewish community in Michigan and across America.

@Correct_Q @BigRichGuy @Timcast @jessmargera No, they “had to do it off season” so nobody would notice - 1.2 Million fewer voters than a November election - that is deliberate. Our school systems in Michigan do the same thing - obscure dates in June or July for tax increases - It’s all BS.

@kolemichael @BigRichGuy @Timcast @jessmargera I’m not “justifying” what VA or OH did, just pointing out both parties do it As for the VA thing, they obvs HAD to do it off-season bc otherwise the new maps wouldn’t be in place by November That’s obvs what you would have preferred, but doesn’t make what they did dirtier.

@SenatorSlotkin If Wayne County is innocent, they should have no problem sharing the information. Hiding it creates suspicion. And no, people do not trust the government.

The intimidation is the point, and Michiganders will not be intimidated out of free and fair elections. This request for Wayne County's 2020 ballots is based on discredited allegations. It's another attempt by President Trump to cast doubt on our elections before the midterms.

@PurpleWolvy22 @Timcast @jessmargera Sorry, you are correct: Arlington County (including Fairfax) voted 55/45 against the bipartisan commission; however, there were many voting precincts in the same county that voted for the commission. But, I stand corrected, it was not every, just a huge majority.

@Correct_Q @Timcast @jessmargera I think it's wrong - Election day for anything other than a primary should be a fixed day or time period every year. Slipping in any vote in mid-year is BS

@kolemichael @Timcast @jessmargera “Holding a major election on a random Tuesday in April, instead of the standard first Tuesday after the first Monday in November, is dirty politics” You’ll love how the Republican state legislature in Ohio tried to ban abortion in Ohio …

Tim, it's not the 51.5% who voted yesterday that counts here. This bipartisan redistricting commission was created by 65% of Virginia voters in November 2020 — and every single district in the state supported it. Over 4.2 million Virginians voted for that commission, compared to just 3 million yesterday. Holding a major election on a random Tuesday in April, instead of the standard first Tuesday after the first Monday in November, is dirty politics. It shouldn’t be allowed.

Its not fine when anyone does it Its not fine for Trump to push a mid decade redraw Virginia put 5 districts in Fairfax county In Texas the issue was the population shifted so they redrew and it made red areas less competitive. Considering the Democrat swing it was likely going to prevent Dems from winning in these areas By all means you can argue its dirty politics and should only happen decennially but for VA to try to put 5 districts in just fairfax is fucking insane. Most importantly what Texas does is not material to residents in Virginia who want to express their views 51.5% voting to remove the voice of 48.5% under the auspice of "Texas did it first" is fascistic You can say Texas is evil but we wont be evil or you can be like virginia and say "i guess we are all evil"

@FairTaxOfficial If 100% of all items were manufactured in America, tariff income would be 0. Take this to the extreme, and you see that it won't work. Tariffs are nothing more than sales taxes charged a bit earlier in the process.
