Feb 23, 2018: ESPN/Schlabach report “a source familiar with FBI wiretaps” claims they have Sean Miller and Christian Dawkins talking 100k payment to Ayton to secure Ayton to Arizona. Schlabach makes the evening rounds and promotes his unproven hearsay as fact.

Mark Schlabach fabricating the Sean Miller story:
-Ruined Arizona’s season and set the program back a few years
-Screwed Sean Miller and Book big time.
I hope Book gets another coaching opportunity.
Also, Schlabach still needs to be held accountable.

This is great stuff from @TomCrean. I have discussed @richardson_book case with the @NCAA. He also has an attorney who also, until recently, has been given the runaround. We have tried to work diplomatically. More with a voice need to speak up. What a public relations move would be for @NCAA to remove a “show cause” order on him that goes until 2032. (X-verse, please don’t chime in. You know none of the details.)

I don’t remember anyone asking Lute Olson about other coaching jobs because we all assumed that he had had at @ArizonaMBB a “”top 5” job. Now that Wildcats are back in Final Four, nothing’s changed.

@ironmikeluke Imagine believing a Duke grad. If you think UNC can’t afford to pay both buyouts, make Lloyd the highest paid coach in cbb, and give him 15 mil in NIL you truly know nothing. Who knows what Lloyd wants, but Arizona fans’ takes on our program are truly laughable.

@TheRealestJMJ @ShaneDaleAZ Best recap of all this I've seen. I've used it many times to help people understand how dumb all that situation was. I still wish Miller would have sued for defamation. I'm sure something would have come out that he wouldn't want public but ESPN really needed to lose $ over this.

It's been almost a decade and Mark Schlabach apparently still hasn't faced consequences for his inaccuracies that altered the lives of many people, not to mention an entire athletics program.

Why would coach go to unc/kansas if he has paradise at Arizona after lute and coach miller? 2 build something so special at this point just to leave and try to create that again at another elite program would not be smart.. why leave? So stop the distractions. He is here to stay

@jaylassoku This team and win is a credit to Kansas, Iowa St, Houston, Texas Tech, BYU, and all of the great teams and fan bases in the conference who try to destroy you every game with intensity and relentless. This team is different from previous AZ teams. It’s Big 12 battle tested.

@BadSportsRefs It was clear the NCAA and CBS did not want 3 teams from the Big10 in the Final Four. Arizona was given that game. With a fair whistle that would have been a great game. Either team could have won.

This is what some Arkansas & Purdue fans are alleging. A massive conspiracy across the entire season, w many different refs, in many different venues. This statement lays out how absurd that is.

@HogfanChris It is an objective statement that teams up by 20 tend to foul less in order to not give the other team pts, nor do 3pt shooters tend to get fouled as much (AZ 8 3pt shots to Ark's 23). None of these is unique to this game.

Plus... if you can see the number of fouls and the time on the clock, 2 fouls on Arizona with just over 7 minutes left.

Arkansas' 88 points last night were the most scored against Arizona all season.
The Hogs had a national-title level offense, but the defense just wasn't good enough against the nation's best.

I just looked this up, due to a comment from an Arizona player.
Arizona free throws, through 3 NCAA tournament games, vs the other 3 teams combined.
Rd 1: 33 free throws vs 10 free throws
Rd 2: 39 free throws vs 11 free throws
Rd 3: 39 free throws vs 26 free throws
Arizona in tournament: 111 free throws.
Other 3 teams combined: 48 free throws
Seems reasonable. I guess nobody can play defense without fouling, aside from Arizona.
Arizona has 63 MORE free throws than the other three teams combined. The free throw disparity is greater than the total free throws combined by the opposing 3 teams. Wow.
