After not posting on WCA for 6 months, my time as moderator at Wildcat Authority has come to an end. I’d like to thank Jason for almost 15 years of trust, & wish Jason, Mike, & WCA crew all the best. Went out trolling BROs, defending UofA on Bruins Report. It was a good death.

@MorningShow0099 That took a years worth of screen captures, half a year of weekly/monthly updates during trials, didn’t finish until 2 years after it was started, which was 4 years after Schlabach nuked Sean Miller and Arizona Basketball so thoroughly it became the face of the scandal w/o proof.

Mark Schlabach fabricating the Sean Miller story: -Ruined Arizona’s season and set the program back a few years -Screwed Sean Miller and Book big time. I hope Book gets another coaching opportunity. Also, Schlabach still needs to be held accountable.

This is great stuff from @TomCrean. I have discussed @richardson_book case with the @NCAA. He also has an attorney who also, until recently, has been given the runaround. We have tried to work diplomatically. More with a voice need to speak up. What a public relations move would be for @NCAA to remove a “show cause” order on him that goes until 2032. (X-verse, please don’t chime in. You know none of the details.)

@ShaneDaleAZ I created this almost 15 months after Schlabach nuked Miller and Arizona Basketball respectively. It needed like 2 years to become complete.

It's been almost a decade and Mark Schlabach apparently still hasn't faced consequences for his inaccuracies that altered the lives of many people, not to mention an entire athletics program.

@jackwallacetv Every year in the Pac12 Arizona was losing to shitty no-hope teams like Stanford Washington or Washington State or Oregon State or Utah or even ASU. Entire road trips were downers, where even wins submarines your resume. Be up every game in Big12 or else. That’s preparation.

@jackwallacetv The idea that because Washington State swept Arizona nullifies the argument the Pac12 didn’t prepare Arizona for March yearly is a casual fallacy because the main point of the original argument is there were too many games to play down to in a Pac12 schedule. You provided proof.

@SportsCrazee Seems like it’s fake. No other reports in the hours since and the dude has Satire in his bio and tweets fake things. Sucks

Duke couldnt handle B2B ranked opponents this weekend because it never was required to in ACC Conference or Tournament play. Said it Selection Sunday. Duke had the least impressive resume of the Big-3 Teams considered.

@HowieLongShort I’d said Corliss Williamson off Prep tape. Elbows in Dribble Drive and Aggressive in lane.

@AzBobbyl Honestly, I’m fully expecting Mo and Ivan to test and they should. Both have back end 1st to early 2nd potential this year. If they return their upside is top-20 or better next year in weaker draft. But wouldn’t be shocked for full departure of top-7.

@TheRealestJMJ Tommy will have some work to replace four players -- but he has the two recruits -- see who else he brings in.

Friendly reminder I asked Arizona to trend this direction in April 2023. Literally on my hospital bed I implored Tommy to prioritize domestic prep recruiting, and minimize graduate transfers. Asked all transfers be multi-year. Tommy crushed it even when I worried.
The Wall Street Journal@WSJ

While bonus eligibility and NIL led plenty of teams to build around players in their 20s, Arizona sprinted in the other direction. Now its teenagers have the Wildcats one win from the Final Four. on.wsj.com/4bAh7DF

@AzBobbyl The thing about prioritizing domestic prep recruiting is it also creates a wider net for multi-year transfer recruiting. Bradley is an example of this. Recruited as prep. Joined as a traditional transfer. Cast wider net, develop relationships with Preps/fam, benefit via transfers

@AzBobbyl Tommy has excelled with traditional transfers. Pelle, Ballo… then came Bradley, Love, then Awaka, ADO. He is built for traditional mutli-year transfers. His track record with grad transfers was iffier. No real stars. He needed to prove either Euro or Prep recruiting could hang.

@GrantlandComics @WSJ Literally their 8-man is 50/50 Freshmen and Seniors. Still, starting 3 freshmen was a huge step. Prior to this year, Lloyd had never even started 1 and played the grad transfer game a lot. So this is a huge evolution, but a crazy effective mix of skills and roles.

@WSJ It is more of a mix of old experienced players along with the Freshman. PG-Jaden Bradley – Senior, 22 yo SG-Brayden Burries – Freshman, 20 yo SF-Ivan Kharchenkov – Freshman, 19 yo PF-Koa Peat – Freshman, 19 yo C-Motiejus Krivas – Junior, 21 yo and PF Tobe Awaka is a Senior

Remember when Kemba Walker was the best player in college basketball despite his size but a whole bunch of teams thought they saw better players elsewhere?
