According to reports, the incident happened while preparations were underway for a sod-cutting ceremony for a new maternity ward. The suspect, said to be wielding a cutlass and dressed in traditional charms, allegedly attacked a palace messenger at the scene. Police officers reportedly moved in to arrest him peacefully, but the situation escalated after he allegedly refused to surrender. Officers then shot him in the hand before overpowering and arresting him. Both the injured palace messenger and the suspect were rushed to the hospital to receive medical treatment.
