It’s clear to me that the art of forecasting is nearly dead. Pattern recognition, synoptic analysis, and actual interrogation of the models, all replaced by fixation on individual runs and derived outputs, which is especially bad as the event enters the hi-res temporal space.
There are still a few that practice the art but the majority here does not, and it shows.
