Media outlets shape content to retain audience, not to serve a higher journalistic purpose. Claims of objectity are marketing strategies, not declarations of principle.

@mediaandcomms @RobSchneider @MLB Yes, you are wrong. I remember players getting fined for "going against the agenda" they even made players that disagreed with kneeling during the anthem STAY IN THE LOCKER ROOM while players took a knee. All of that was from recall, I swear I'm Beset By Idiots.

"Trump won, we don't have to do this anymore." Vice President JD Vance offers a blunt response as he jumps into the growing controversy over San Francisco Giants pitchers who wrote Bible verses on their Pride Night caps. The players referenced Genesis 9:12-16, the passage describing God's covenant with Noah and the rainbow. After the game, MLB put the players on notice, warning them against any future unsanctioned messages. The debate has quickly expanded beyond baseball, fueling a national conversation over faith, free expression, and Pride Night traditions in professional sports.

What does MLB think it’s doing penalizing players for their Christian faith? They owe us some answers. Right now.

Three pitchers for the @SFGiants were issued warnings from the @MLB after they wrote Bible verses on their Pride-themed caps, claiming their actions "violate our rules." The @MLB is discriminating against Christians while promoting degeneracy.

🚨 JUST IN: The Attorney General of Florida is now launching an investigation into the MLB after they WARNED 3 Giants pitchers simply because they wore BIBLE VERSES on their "Pride Night" caps GOOD! JD VANCE: "Trump won we don’t have to do this anymore." AG UTHMEIER: "Do you practice religious discrimination in Florida, MLB? You’ll be hearing from my office soon." The verse says that the rainbow is a symbol of a covenant between God and all living creatures. WHY would they discipline that? Cut the BS! Christians can be Christians!

Major League Baseball is about to enter Bud Light territory. They are warning four players on the San Francisco Giants not to repeat the wearing of bible verses on their hats during a "Pride Night" celebration. But @MLB had no such issues following Colin Kaepernick in 2017.

We agree that the disrespect to the overall narrative for both of them was the point. You said in an earlier comment that "Colin did nothing wrong." Not in a legal or rule based sense, perhaps. But it was a poor choice. He was not a good enough athlete to be able to absorb the career damage that resulted from his actions. When he was released by SF, another team wouldn't sign him because a backup QB wasn't worth the circus he would bring with him.

Several Giants players wrote Bible verses on their caps to respond to Pride Night. The gesture echoed a familiar pattern: making a night meant for inclusion about something else entirely. Read more for free, from @GrantBrisbee: nyti.ms/3Q23q8J

@atensnut You idiots have never explained why pride bothers y'all so much. You're openly proud to support a man who's cheated on every wife he's ever had. An actual convicted felon, and man found liable for r*pe. Oh, and he started a war. So what's the difference? 🤷🏻‍♂️

@ClayTravis Stating disagreement on the field is just fine with MLB in some circumstances.

So you can be forced to wear a uniform with a values statement you disagree with in MLB, but you aren’t allowed to state your disagreement with the values? The clear solution here is just wear normal uniforms and stop pride nights. It’s counterproductive at this point.

After three San Francisco Giants pitchers appeared in Friday’s game with Bible verses written on their Pride Night caps, MLB issued a warning that similar behavior will not be tolerated. More details: nyti.ms/4virvHy

MLB is entering dangerous territory warning players who write Bible verses on Pride Night caps. About half of MLB players are Christian. Forcing them to wear promotional gear they don’t ideologically align with, while silencing their right to express their faith, isn't inclusion - it is forced conformity. If MLB values diversity it must extend to the religious beliefs of players.

The @SFGiants have a long history of supporting our large & vibrant LGBTQ community, even when it hasn’t always been popular. It’s one of the many reasons I’m proud of the team. That storied history makes it even more troubling that the Giants are now accepting ads from Chick-fil-A — a virulently homophobic business — & disturbing that some players used last night’s Giants Pride Night as an opportunity to display a bible verse about rainbows that is frequently used by right wing Christians to “take back” the rainbow from LGBTQ people. Last night wasn’t just Pride Night. It was also the 10th anniversary of the Pulse Nightclub massacre, when 49 people were mass murdered. To be clear, these players could have cited the rainbow bible verse on any of the other 364 days of the year. Instead, they chose to cite it only on Pride Night & only in connection with the rainbow Giants logo celebrating our LGBTQ community. There’s only one explanation for that choice — a choice the Giants tolerated. It’s hard to envision the Giants tolerating this kind of behavior directed at any other community. The Giants can & must do better.
