Time flies. After almost 4 years at @huggingface , I’m moving on. A major part of that chapter was timm, which I sold to the company and continued to build. For anyone relying on it, I’ve agreed to collaborate on bug fixes and basic maintenance, but new feature development will likely cease. It was a meaningful chapter, and I’m thankful for the opportunity to grow timm over that time. AI is moving incredibly fast, and I’m excited to focus on new ideas and opportunities that feel like the right fit for this moment. There will be significant decisions for me ahead. I look forward to more of the serendipitous collaborations (e.g. OpenCLIP, ResNet Strikes Back, HTTY ViT) that I’ve enjoyed in the past. I’m currently working on a long overdue OpenCLIP refactoring that I hope will be useful for all and make it easier to add new model + objective combinations.

@ITSecurityWire Love it! domain specific Agentic AI is hot - extend that to SOC with our purpose-built vertical Agentic AI (KNOWLEDGE-GRAPH-POWERED + agentic actions) on Symantec/Carbon Black/Tenable. 200k ARR, measurable MTTR wins. Raising early investments-DM for a quick intro if relevant to your readers?

@deedydas Love the AI portfolio updates on coding markets and cyber agentic AI innovations are key in agentic era. We're applying that to SOC with purpose-built vertical Agentic AI (Knowledge Graph + Agentic actions) on existing tools like Carbon Black/Tenable/Symantec. 200k ARR, 70%+ margins, real MTTR wins. Raising early investments. DM if you'd like a quick intro?

To round out the space: there are some rumors Codex is at $1B. The next big players are Cognition / Copilot / Lovable / ReplIt at $300-600M. A conservative estimate with put the current AI coding market at $7.5-10B. Of course, a lot of API spend on models is for coding even though it isn't directly attributable which would push it even higher.

Narrative violation. Cursor goes $1B to $2B in 3mos. Claude Code went $0 to $2.5B in 8mos. Everyone in the tech/X bubble think people are wholesale ditching Cursor, but enterprise diffusion is glacial. Most of the world just got a hold of it.

An enormous amount of the work in all commercial AI labs comes from open source software. E.g the original LLM, ULMFiT, was open source, and led to the creation of GPT at OpenAI, where the Anthropic founding team was working at the time. Innovation happens through open research
Alek Dimitriev@tensor_rotator

I can finally publicly state one reason I’ve not been bullish on open source catching up and overtaking the frontier labs: we observed several of the top open source models distilling from Claude. Leapfrogging happens through innovation, not distillation.

Openclaw is one of the fastest exits in the history of tech. The amount of M&A is mind bending in the AI world. If you can cut through the noise, you can have great outcomes faster than you realize. Assuming the deal took a month (or at least a couple of weeks) to finalize, Openclaw went viral and sold in less than a month. I see founders launching startups and selling for a life changing money (most in equity) before even the product goes live. Your next project could be the same. AI is the great wealth builder of the next decade.

.@DanielMiessler Exactly when every business and person has AI agents interacting via APIs, the SOC needs purpose-built vertical control layers, not general agents. Just thought of a simple framework for being anti-fragile in this new world. 1. Know how the world works 2. Have opinions on how you think it should work differently 3. Have skills that enable you to affect change So number one is learning the foundations of reality from physics on up through psychology and economics. Lots of science, lots of history, fiction, everything. Read like a crazy person. Number two is having enough exposure to the beauty and horror of the world to have your own personal ideas of what you'd like to be different. It's hard to have high-quality intuitions without lots of tangible life experience. And number three is actually having the soft and hard skills (especially the expert use of AI) to be able to make things happen.

Last week, we hosted Menlo's 2026 AI Cyber Summit — bringing together leading CISOs, founders, and security practitioners to discuss what today's threat landscape looks like and what defenders need to do to stay ahead. Thank you to @JasonDClinton (@AnthropicAI), @embeddedsec (former @OpenAI), @jpatel41 (@Cisco), Heather Ceylan (@Box), @evanreiser (@abnormalai) and all the security leaders who joined us for a powerful discussion. If you're building AI-native security, we're actively investing — let's talk. Read the full recap here: mnlo.vc/ai-cyber-summit

As much as it pains me… I’m likely to EVENTUALLY buy into the SAAS-pocalypse. Hard assets are more in vogue at the moment because of respect of AI disruption coming for asset light businesses. The key is going to be having patience and being extremely selective. The only 6 that are on my radar at the moment are… $ADBE $NOW $CRM $VEEV $WDAY $ADSK Of these 3, which ones do you think has the most likelihood of recovering?
