Political violence is never ok. Democrats are centre right and not leftists.

@RetrieverLeo @mattjcan Vote better next time. If Australia didn't vote Labor, their "reserve" was oil that needed shipping for 30 days then refining, but due to Labors action on mandating domestic fuel supply and building additional storage, we were able to release fuel almost immediately.

70% of Australians want us to build more oil refineries. Do you trust Anthony Albanese and Chris Bowen to build one? They have been running a war on fossil fuels for years!

@RetrieverLeo @mattjcan it's not a debatable fact, they took a plan to build 2x new refineries and a national fuel reserve and people like you voted against it and are now grandstanding on why it didn't happen. sorry if being called a punk hurts your fee fees.

US fuel shipments to Australia are already happening at record levels amid the Iran-related supply crunch. Exxon, BP & Vitol sent the most refined fuels (petrol/diesel) from the US Gulf in a single month in decades — ~240k tons in March 2026. Three more massive cargoes (343k barrels petrol + ~600k barrels diesel) arrived or are arriving April 14-22, securing stocks well into May. Market's working, no presidential phone call required.

@OMGTheMess And there is one person Albo should call but won't because he's a coward. That person has the oil & fuel to keep Australia going. The President of the USA. And before anyone starts the BS, the Iranian regime needed to be taken out.

@RetrieverLeo @mattjcan Punks like you voted it down and voted in the useless Liberal Party, despite them having pushed us needlessly into a per capita recession by 2019 so they could pretend they were 'back in black' (hint: they weren't). Really helped out when the pandemic hit.

@GXbitcoin @josephwang They're busy transforming and taking over the financial system. The plan is definitely a multitude of stablecoins whose issuers will be buying Treasuries en masse. They're not shy about talking about this.

only on the short end. Stable coins have a max maturity to their holdings of 93 days per the Genius Act. Plus their is only ~$2.5T cash in circulation, so yes, each coin supports Tbills, but only to that end. Unless they just print Stablecoins and buy bills, super inflationary by the way.

@TopherField Why is it then that all those things get neglected when the party of 'small' government is in power?

The lesson is clear: Governments cannot be trusted to manage... anything. Not our energy sector Not our farming Not our industry Not our utilities Not even our money. Nothing that matters should ever be entrusted to something as feckless as government. Government worshippers insist we 'need' Government to do things that are 'too important' for the private sector, but the truth is the opposite... ...if it's important, keep the government WAY away from it. If we can learn that lesson then the pain will have been worthwhile.

Gallivanting across Asia, burns through 300,000 litres of jet fuel, secures just 26 hours of diesel and 3 days of fertiliser. This is the Australian Sub-Prime Minister. Australia has never been in a more dangerous position. Toto went too.

@PeterGresham @QBCCIntegrity true I wrote it and I knew something was bothering me about it haha - head of state would be the GG. Albo mandated domestic fuel supply and expanded storage ensuring that they were able to release more fuel sooner. Albo is doing just fine.

@myneedtovent @MICHAEL37404563 @QBCCIntegrity Personal touch diplomacy. Honestly it's really plumbing the depths of things to whinge about, having our PM fly to our trading partners to discuss supply chain stability. What a horrible man.

@business @LukeGromen proven correct once again. More people need to follow him. As the cost of energy increases, governments will sell off foreign assets first to cover the higher costs. Those foreign assets include U.S. treasuries. Get ready for dollars to come home to roost. Inflation!

@mattjcan oh that Labor... doing exactly what Matt and his government did for *checks notes* nearly a decade in power. Hot tip @mattjcan preying on fear is not gaslighting voters any more. You have to compete with Pauline, I get it, but it's pretty sad.

Like many Australians, my nonno and nonna emigrated to Australia after the Second World War. And back in the 1950s they had to go through great lengths to become an Australian citizen. There is not that type of due diligence today. After the social media ban, we have made it harder to get a Youtube account than to get an Australian citizenship. The Liberal and Nationals parties will crackdown on this madness and more stringently vet people who apply for visas and citizenship. We would check people’s social media, make Australian values a condition of entry and deport the tens of thousands of people who are here illegally. More in today’s @couriermail

Response to statement from Paul Keating: I always suspected that Paul Keating didn’t support Australian values, but now he has dropped any pretence. To suggest it is “racist” to put Australian values at the centre of our immigration policy shows just how out of touch he is with Australians, as is the Labor Party. This is the immigration policy we have to have. Immigration numbers are too high. Immigration standards are too low. And both must change. It’s time for Paul Keating and the Labor Party to put Australians and Australian values first.

With yesterday’s fire at Victorias oil refinery Australia is skating on very thin ice. Albanese needs to take immediate action to get the military to build an oil refinery. The private sector is driven by profit not national security. That’s why Government needs to own and operate essential services along the private sector. We have public schools and hospitals because we know that the private sector won’t build these essential services if they can’t make a buck. You’ve only got to look at bank branch closures and the privatisation of our Insurance offices to see that once completely privatised, services rapidly decline. The same for oil refineries - we need energy for our essential services such as the Military, Health, Policing and Agriculture. Therefore the government has to step in and build refineries as the private sector can’t be trusted to put the national interest first. The same for our state governments. They need to urgently start building coal fired power stations if they want to re-industrialise Australia. The QLD premier is talking about big game when it comes to the Taroom trough but that is years away at best. How about he gets busy and starts building more power stations for the coal that we know we have.

@QBCCIntegrity @7NewsBrisbane @ChrisReason7 The fuel situation is clearly a crisis but more focus needs to be placed on BOTH major parties failure to prepare and manage. Better governance for energy transition and contingencies are needed, not economically unfeasible platitudes that brought us here (net zero by xxxx).

Australians are being assured the nation's fuel stocks are safe, despite the refinery fire. The Prime Minister has secured 100 million litres of diesel from Asia, but experts warn an escalation of the fuel emergency plan is now unavoidable. @ChrisReason7
