The TASMAC scam watch site created by a techie to crowdsource complaints has been covered by @dt_next today. We need more such citizen-driven, vibe-coded initiatives to help track and give suggestions to the TN govt. @ChristinMP_ had told me if similar initiatives in the Bengaluru X space.

I’m currently working on a public-interest “TASMAC Scam Watch” web app to help citizens report TASMAC-related issues like overcharging, lack of billing, liquor quality concerns, and transparency gaps. Web app: tasmac-scam.vercel.app For this, I’m trying to access publicly available shop wise details from official TASMAC websites: tasmac.co.in
tasmac.tn.gov.in However, both websites have been down for the past few weeks. Requesting the concerned Minister and officials to kindly restore access to these portals, as it would greatly help public transparency and citizen-driven reporting. @TVKVijayHQ @AadhavArjuna @BussyAnand @CTR_Nirmalkumar @imrajmohan

@raavanamavan7 10 rs alone is not a scam. Quality of liquor, spurious liquor,non availability of popular brands, fake adulterated liquor many scams.

Chief Minister Vijay is likely to order the closure of TASMAC shops located near temples, schools, and colleges. The process has reportedly already begun. If implemented, many TASMAC shops in Chennai could be shut down, as several are located close to these places. 👏👏

@nirmalj17 Exactly bro. Without proper bill/invoice enforcement, every department becomes a free playground for overcharging. Stamp paper vendors, TASMAC, local offices everywhere transparency is missing.

@raavanamavan7 Super cool initiative! Quick thought - the report form feels a bit heavy, which could put people off completing it. A WhatsApp bot for direct reporting might land better. Happy to contribute however I can.

@Crudeoilist I’m trying that bro, but the data is not clean. Many districts/shops are missing or outdated, so tokens are getting wasted only. That’s why I’m trying to collect proper shop-wise details first.

@Tamilnaattaann From this morning, I started using Google Sheets to collect user report data, so it’s free for now. Hosting is on Vercel, which is also free currently. I’m building it with React + TypeScript in VS Code, using Claude and Codex AI for development support.
