Bengaluru Police arrested two men within minutes of a mobile phone snatching after a Swiggy delivery executive was assaulted and robbed near an apartment in Hulimavu on July 12. Following a Namma 112 alert, a Hoysala patrol reached the spot within five minutes & caught two suspects about 500 metres away, while a third escaped. The accused were handed over to Hulimavu Police for investigation. @BlrCityPolice

Karnataka CM @DKShivakumar has written to PM @narendramodi seeking the immediate deputation of a Central team to assess the state's emerging drought situation. Citing a 30% rainfall deficit as of July 11, delayed monsoon, poor reservoir storage (303 TMC or 34% capacity) and sluggish Kharif sowing (28.36 lakh hectares, 34% of target), he warned of adverse impacts on agriculture, drinking water and hydropower. Shivakumar said state has initiated drought mitigation measures & sought early Central support to protect farmers & food security, particularly pulse production.

Karnataka government has appointed senior IAS officers as District In-charge Secretaries to oversee development works, monitor implementation of government schemes & review public grievances across districts. "They must conduct regular district visits, inspect schools, hospitals and Anganwadis, monitor civic services, resolve revenue & land issues, upload monthly reports on DIS Portal, engage with the public & ensure preparedness against outbreaks such as Nipah" : Govt notification.

Karnataka: National Lok Adalat saw 19.14 lakh pre-litigation traffic challan cases settled after state offered 50% concession on pending fines between June 21 & July 10, collecting over Rs 55 crore. Overall, Lok Adalat held on July 11 disposed of 78.8 lakh cases, including 2.55 lakh pending cases & 76.25 lakh pre-litigation matters, with settlements worth Rs 3,017 crore. High Court benches disposed of 1,229 pending cases.

Karnataka govt has approved formation of around 6,000 Bharat Jodo Yuva Sanghas across villages & urban wards "to promote responsible citizenship, constitutional values, leadership, social harmony, volunteerism and community development". Each Sangha will have at least 50 members and a 15-member executive committee. The government has sanctioned Rs 10 lakh per district for implementation, with a Project Monitoring Unit to oversee execution, audits and reporting.
