Death at every corner. You can die while doing ordinary things in this country. A young man died after being electrocuted by a live wire dangling from an electric pole while pushing his scooter in the rain near Commercial Street. This is in the heart of Bengaluru,a shopping hub.

Karnataka DCM @DKShivakumar said issuing 23 lakh e-khatas under GBA in 10 months is a national record. From May 16, a weekly ‘Namma e-Khata’ drive with open-house counters at 50 locations will resolve 5,000 grievances/week; each case to be cleared in 15 days. Over 10 lakh digital khatas sent via WhatsApp; physical copies to follow. OCs issued to 37,480 flats. About 7,000 B-to-A khata applications are being processed, with Rs 300 crore potential revenue. The system uses GPS-tagged records, ends duplication, and cost ₹2 crore with 200 staff. A doorstep delivery model aims to curb bribe complaints (₹5k–₹10k). Govt also declared private roads in revenue layouts as public assets @GBA_office @GBAChiefComm

Karnataka DCM @DKShivakumar said double-decker roads, parking buildings, flyovers and underpasses will help build 'Brand Bengaluru'. On Friday, he launched dynamic lighting for metro pillars on MG Road, inaugurated the ground-floor parking complex at KR Market and initiated a skywalk at Banashankari bus stand junction. He said the KR Market parking facility has been handed to private firms, with no high charges & strict enforcement will bar parking within 1 km, with towing for violations. The government plans policies to boost private parking, including tech to park 20 vehicles in 10-12 metres. He said unused KR Market buildings are being repaired & traders relocated. A 44-km double-decker network is planned, though up to 200 km could have been built within the 336-km metro network earlier. The government has taken up 138 km of flyover and underpass projects. He added that development will be phased, with improved lighting citywide and efforts to keep Gandhi Bazaar and KR Market clean.

Today, we are laying the foundation stone for the pedestrian skywalk in Banashankari, a project that will benefit nearly 50,000 people every day. For 7 years, along with citizens, I have consistently followed up to make this happen. While I am happy this long-pending demand is finally being fulfilled, one question remains: should Bengaluru have to wait 7 years for a simple skywalk? Does our city not deserve better and faster governance? I explain the timeline of the project - from when I proposed it in 2019 to today when we are breaking ground.
