@DougKyed Shanny the GM must absolutely keep Shanny the HC out of the HOF, single handedly destroyed TWO franchises

@Manimoewil @BenStandig @Jason_OTC Everything rolls over, it is player money that must be spent on players eventually...they didn't backload deals tho, only Tunsil's $24M dead in 2029 significant & him, Chassion & JayD the only real extension candidates

@BenStandig @Jason_OTC Impressive, my question is. I’m curious how rolling over cap works and what the benefit of having that space is this year. They made a lot of players salary smaller this yr when they didn’t have to. should they have front loaded some deals knowing extensions loom later?

The available salary cap number for the Commanders now appears legit as deals for Paul, McNichols, Brown, etc are included. Via @Jason_OTC: 1. Titans - $63.49M 2. Commanders - $49.35M Had 2nd fewest players under contract at start of FA. Now top half of league with 71.

@BenStandig @Jason_OTC I wonder if the projected cap hits for the incoming draft class are factored in? With our current picks, the cap hit would be ~ 11.6M.

@lcfcstephen @BenStandig @Jason_OTC Everything left rolls over but draft picks are going to be about $6M, in season spend depends on injuries but they're way past the cash spending floor...for next year, here's my more accurate than calculator sites numbers from 4 days ago x.com/i/status/20342…

With only Chris Paul contract outstanding & cap at about $54M, real cap knowers are looking ahead, 2027 cap space sitting around $135M with 27 players under contract

@BenStandig @Jason_OTC How much can we roll over? Is it everything? And if so, do we need to spend for the cap floor? I need to look at what next years space and number of players is too

@Tiller56 Not burning 1 of only 2 June 1st designations is far from petty, keeping him after June 1st could be argued either way, they owe him no favors

Both Lynch and Kyle made public comments that Aiyuk was not in the team’s future plans. Take that however you wish, but what they are doing here, knowing that no team is trading for that contract, is EXTREMELY petty!
BigHairedAristocrat@Bharistocrat

@Tiller56 Yet another dumb take. Ayiuk is under contract with the 49ers. Lynch is under no expectation to release him at any point in time, let alone now just to help out another team.

@Lipp_024 @49ersinfo @JayDanielsMVP @nwagoner Yes but when the option is declined & it converts, adds $20M to the 9ers cap until he's released so kinda important if that date is 4/1 or 9/1 because unlikely they want to carry a $34M cap number from April until September

@rtcwon @49ersinfo @JayDanielsMVP @nwagoner The option bonus converts to a non guaranteed salary, which he only gets if he makes the 53 man roster in September. They will have to cut him, trade him, or pay him but they don't have to do that until September. If WAS wants to wait until then, so be it.

Notes on WR Brandon Aiyuk via @nwagoner on the John Keim Report: • Doesn’t believe a team will trade for him • Aiyuk “sort of” has a de facto no trade clause; trading team would have to rework his contract in which he can have a say in that. • 49ers “very aware” of Aiyuk’s desire to play in Washington. • 49ers don’t have any picks after fourth round, so late-round pick swap not possible. • Washington has huge advantage over any team because of Jayden Daniels relationship with Aiyuk • [Keim]: Sense is that Washington feels pretty good about Aiyuk from what they’ve heard from Jayden; Sounds like Aiyuk has been working towards playing. • Aiyuk had good reputation with teammates; commanded a lot of respect in locker room.

@49ersinfo @JayDanielsMVP @nwagoner No, it became fully gtd & the 25 option of $22.855M was paid on 4/1/2025 but the guarantee was voided in July, the 26 option for $24.935M is still due & converts to p5 when declined, I've seen some claim but not reported anywhere the due date was moved from 4/1/2026 to Sept 1 🤷‍♂️

@rtcwon @JayDanielsMVP @nwagoner The option bonus has been voided. Was due last year in April. Per Spotrac, 2026 Option Bonus: $24.935M (fully guarantees 4/1/2025)

@49ersinfo @JayDanielsMVP @nwagoner Only if the 9ers pay the option bonus which they absolutely are not doing, when they decline it, the full $24.935M converts to salary, adding to the existing $1.215M, making his 2026 p5 $26.15M, that's what a team is trading for, 3yr $82.874M...a defacto no trade clause

@JayDanielsMVP @nwagoner All good points. However, the biggest discrepancy is a team having to rework his contract. There’s zero gtd money left on his deal and essentially a league-minimum base salary in 2026 which is very tradeable. Seems to be the misnomer with assessing the overall situation.

this estimated cash spending value of $328 will go down bc many won’t make the roster for the season, but it may also go up from there as players are added, possibly due to injuries during season. taken all together, $320m is a good cash target imo and they’re on track to hit it

F the cap, this is a cash update. commanders are currently on track to spend about $296m in 2026 according to over the cap, not including draft picks. this value ranks about 11th in the league. the highest spender is currently the 49ers at $347m, which is $51m more than the C's.

I don’t see what many of you see in Magee I see a guy that can run sideline to sideline but that’s it. A lot of guessing in his play rather than knowing, he shouldn’t be a starter on this team.

@JayDanielsMVP It's probably around $50M, Tunsil's extension also hasn't been reported but likely adds around $9M, Jefferson, Brown, Moody, Scott, Ford only ~$200k net to the cap each
