Bitcoin's last three cycles all peaked in November or December and were spaced four years apart. Previous cycle highs: 10 Nov 2021: $69,000 17 Dec 2017: $19,891 29 Nov 2013: $1,242 If that pattern continues, then we would expect this cycle to peak in November or December of 2025. Bitcoin has also followed a power curve for nearly 15 years. The power curve (law) forms a nice support line that I consider the intrinsic value of the network—the value when all hope and hype are gone. My favorite way to measure current price relative to the support is the "years ahead" metric. This metric tells you how long it could be, in the worst case, before the support "forces" prices higher than they are today. Each cycle, Bitcoin rises above the support trendline and then returns to it during the cycle bear. Last cycle, in Spring 2021, the bull market started early, but we ended up with a double top that put us back on the four-year timing. This time could be different, but Bitcoin's price action this cycle has been fairly normal. I think most of the pessimism of late is because the ETFs pumped Bitcoin early and people expected it to continue. I prefer to hold my coins in cold storage. They're safe there, regardless of whether or not the cycle patterns continue. Godspeed, holders. Follow @apsk32

The current situation where only a select few companies like @coinbase and @Gemini can operate under the BitLicense in New York State does not foster a level playing field. This regulatory favoritism has resulted in: Limited Consumer Choice: New Yorkers are deprived of the full spectrum of cryptocurrency services available in other states, impacting their ability to invest, trade, and participate in the digital economy on terms equal to their counterparts elsewhere. Stifled Innovation: The high costs and stringent requirements of obtaining a BitLicense deter startups and smaller firms, which often bring innovative solutions to the market. This is not only bad for the crypto sector but also for New York's reputation as a global financial hub. Economic Disadvantage: New York risks losing out on the economic benefits that a vibrant, competitive crypto ecosystem could bring, including job creation, investment, and technological advancement. We urge you to reconsider the BitLicense regulations to: Broaden Market Access: Lower the barriers to entry for cryptocurrency businesses so that New Yorkers can benefit from a more diverse range of services and products. Encourage Innovation: Adapt the regulatory framework to be more inclusive of startups and smaller companies, thereby fostering innovation in blockchain and cryptocurrency technologies. Protect Consumer Interests: Ensure that any regulatory adjustment still protects consumers through alternative, less restrictive methods that do not favor established players over new ones. By removing or amending the BitLicense to create a more equitable regulatory environment, New York can lead by example in embracing the new digital economy while maintaining necessary oversight.
