It's early obviously, but let's take a quick peek at the top 2 picks in last year's draft: Jackson Holliday: .348/.483/.609, 6BB, 3K 👀 Druw Jones: .053/.182/.053, 3BB, 10K 😬 I'm confident Jones's talent will catch up, but Holliday looks like a #1 overall prospect to me!!

BREAKING: Banksy-inspired statue dropping on VeVe 💐 ➡️ NOT available for purchase to US residents ➡️ Crafting event open to everyone ➡️ 1.25 MILLION MCP points needed to craft ➡️ Years-worth of points for most users. ➡️ Full breakdown and my take on this below In a rather perplexing move, VeVe just released somewhat sobering details for their upcoming Banksy-inspired “Flower Bomb” collectible. But let’s first start with the good news—wait, is there really good news? I’ll try my best Designwise, they nailed the look and feel of the figure, which first made its global debut as the “Flower Thrower” in a 2003 mural painting by Banksy—notice the version on VeVe replaced the word thrower with bomber. And although the mural painting is what propelled the art to worldwide stardom, it was actually first drawn in 1999 and exhibited in 2000 at a Banksy art exhibition. There will be 4 variants of the statues. Two of the variants will be available for purchase via blind box format: $60 | BLIND BOX 1️⃣ Flower Bomber (Concrete variant) | 1,133 editions 2️⃣ Flower Bomber (Original Color variant) | 222 editions ⚠️ There’s a catch: if you live in the United States, you WILL NOT be able to purchase either these in the retail store. HOWEVER, VeVe will allow users from the United States to purchase these in the secondary market. So at least there’s that. This is disappointing to say the least, considering that most of VeVe’s users are located in the US. It will be interesting to see how this drop performs without its largest user base being able to participate. OK, now let’s take a look at the crafting component of this drop. $0 | MCP CRAFTING 3️⃣ 250,000 MCP points needed: Flower Bomber (Street Cleaner variant) | 333 editions 4️⃣ 1 MILLION MCP points needed: Flower Bomber (Patina Bronze variant) | 88 editions Yes, you read that right. Veve is asking users to spend 1 million of their hard-earned MCP points to be able to claim the secret rare patina bronze variant. Last time I checked, it takes around 2,300 MCP points being earned daily to become a Master Collector on the app. Which means it would take 434 days for a Master Collector to accumulate 1 million points. Think about it this way, if you’re a master collector, the way you are being “rewarded” for this drop by VeVe is by spending over one year’s worth of your MCP points. And for the ultra rare crafting variant, you will need 250,000 MCP points. That’s 108 days’ worth of MCP points for a Master Collector. So cumulative, you will need 542 days worth of MCP points. And that’s for most Master Collectors. I can’t even imagine how many years worth of points that equals two for those that aren’t Master Collectors. Actually, I can imagine. So let’s dig into that. Now let’s say you are a fairly active collector on the platform that earns 500 MCP points daily. Are you ready to hear how long it will take to accumulate enough points to craft both of these statues? Grab a chair or sit on the floor, because you might fall after hearing this: 2,500 days! Or nearly 7 years 😳 And if you earn 1000 MCP points daily, it’ll take you 1,250 days to craft these two statues, or 3.42 years. So Master Collectors from the United States are stuck with being forced to drain nearly 2 years worth of MCP points to craft the two variants. But for most users, it would literally take years-worth of MCP points to craft these two. A more reasonable 100,000 MCP points for the ultra rare, and 250,00 for the secret rare would’ve been better received. Heck, considering how few Master Collector ranks there are on the platform, an exclusive crafting event just for them would’ve made more sense. Perhaps the spirit of this decision was in the right place. But the execution fell far short of rewarding loyal collectors on the platform. It feels more like being taken advantage of.
