@onslotton@AConcernedPare2 Stranger in a Strange Land is not for kids. Where did you get that idea???? Suggesting it is borderline grooming. Please stop.
@screenwashedcom@AConcernedPare2 Those are intended for children, at 13 unless he's low IQ, it should help him increase his scientific knowledge, philosophy knowledge, and knowledge about society.
I recently bought my 13 yo son "The Martian" after he loved Project Hail Mary. He finished it in 2 days and is looking for more books like this.
Any recommendations for sci-fi books that are similar?
LeBron James says he couldn't date a stay at home woman
“I think personally me today, if I was not in a relationship, I could not have a stay at home woman”
“For me, who I am at 40 and what I got going on, just coming home and seeing somebody sitting on the couch every day just chilling, that wouldn't float for me”
in a certain social circle of mine, divorces are happening like dominoes
one friend went first, then the second realized she too was married to a "toxic narcissistic abuser" and filed; then the third one realized she also was
that group of friends is on divorce #6 in the chain
@onslotton@AConcernedPare2 Stranger in a Strange Land is not fit for 13 year olds. It’s literally a non-stop orgy.
Heinlein had a whole series of books for juveniles. Books like The Starbeast and Tunnel in the Sky are ideal
@USEmbassyNassau Worrying about sharks was bad enough, but now if I go swimming I have worry about attacks from roving jet ski operators too?
Think I’ll stay home.
🚨 SAFETY ALERT: Ambassador Herschel Walker has an important message for Americans visiting The Bahamas: Jet ski rentals pose a serious risk of injury, death, and sexual assault. U.S. gov't employees are banned from renting them — and you should avoid them too.

What is the appropriate allowance for an 11 year old boy each week to take out the trash and recycling?
I was thinking $20 per week to handle that chore whenever we need it done.
The people who say “Money doesn’t really matter”
either have a gigantic amount of money or don’t have any at all. 😂
Middle class people trying to make a budget work don’t say that money doesn’t matter.
I feel like we don’t talk about how life-altering it can be to have bad neighbors. It’s quite literally one of the worst things that can happen to you!

There are probably only 20 (arguably 50 or so) universities that really matter as far as “prestige” and it mattering for your own personal brand. I didn’t go to one of these universities. The bottom ~90% of universities are all kind of viewed as the same level of prestige (low).
Given the fact that the college system scam is such a major source of federal, state, and personal debt, this transition will likely be a win-win for the individual citizen and for the taxpayer on a more long term time horizon.
The only loser, is the person that paid for the worthless degree, from the mid-low tier school. And that is the person that will fight to keep this ponzi alive.
The farmers market is cool because farmers can skip the middleman and sell directly to you, saving a lot of money… which is why everything somehow costs five times more than it does at a normal grocery store.
The funniest thing about these AI posts is that you can actually get AI not to sound like AI if you put an extra five minute in with a couple more prompts telling it not to sound like AI.
But these people think you’re so dumb they don’t have to bother to make quick money off you.
The craziest thing about this video isn't the $4,441 day
It's that almost nobody would call this a factory
No smokestacks. No forklifts. No massive building. Just rows of 3D printers quietly turning plastic into cash while most people are still arguing about side hustles.
90 orders shipped in a single day. Dozens of machines running at the same time. Products being printed, packed, and sent out before the owner even touches half of them. At some point you stop owning a printer and start owning a production line.
This is why I'm paying so much attention to machine-powered businesses right now. First it was software. Now it's physical products. The cost of starting a manufacturing operation is collapsing, and most people haven't noticed yet.
The next generation of million-dollar businesses won't always start in warehouses. Some will start with a few machines in a room and a founder smart enough to let the machines do the work.
