We wrote *three* versions of Flutter in JavaScript before moving to Dart. 😭 AOT was the biggest reason to move. Before AOT we had *12 second* startup times on iOS. Doesn't at all surprise me that we will eventually see more Dart on the server taking advantage of the same. 🚀

that's some nice Dart on the Server benchmarking barfoos.com/blog/dart_java…

If you take one thing out of the post ( donnfelker.com/why-kotlin-mul…) of @donnfelker then it should this #KMP #flutter #Mobile

@Android wouldn't be nice to have something like that with #jetpackcompose. And no, the layout inspector isn't that same. In general it would be nice to have the same DX when developing Android as you have as with Flutter..... hot reload?🤔 Would be an awesome start

The Flutter widget inspector is a powerful tool for visualizing and exploring Flutter widget trees. 🔎 You can use the inspector to understand existing layouts, as well as to diagnose layout issues. Get started using the Flutter widget inspector → goo.gle/40yby1u

@benawad Maybe I am missing something but you can host PWA to the play store / app store right?
English

Developers like PWAs, consumers like apps
Voidpet started as a PWA
One of the big cons was immersion
There’s a fat url bar taking up screen real estate
The only way to make it slightly better is for the user to add the website to their home screen which 95% of people don’t do
Being an app icon on someone’s phone for 100% of your users compared to 5% with a PWA is huge
There’s a reason almost every major company has a mobile website AND still develops an app

@Param_eth Well....have you thought about the app dev there are in the same boat

@chrisbanes @GooglePlay This is one of the reasons why I'm looking forward to jetpack compose Web Support, so you can deploy the app on internal webserver and don't have to jump through those loops
English

Spent the morning setting up a new @GooglePlay Developer console account + new app. This app is internal + closed alpha testing only.
I don't know how, but they've managed to make this one of the most bureaucratic things I've ever done. It's easier to do a tax return than this.

@mattpocockuk Kotlin is awesome language without any question, but if you want to keep you too your i will give rescript-lang.org a try

@_Mo_Malaka_ Learned flutter by reading the amazing Docs in the source code. But back then (2017) wasn't much more around,😃

@swissonid Aren’t there like 3 packages that work great? I remember using some
English

@precious_tagy The web in general I would always start with the web because of so many reasons. But if you have decided to native and you won't use flutter....well probably Kotlin Multiple platforms - but not sure how much do you Winn with it
