@linusgsebastian @eevblog The problem is the list of acceptable IDs, it can be manipulated by policy makers to disenfranchise certain people. In fact there was a North Carolina voter ID law that got struck down because the Supreme Court ruled it targeted black voters "with surgical precision".

@eevblog I'm much more left-leaning than most Americans (&u), but it's wild to me that ID isn't just common sense. We do have a way around it in Canada - you can have someone else at your polling station (who presents ID) vouch for you, but otherwise you just.. show ID cuz like.. why not?
