I actually think this illustrates a challenge with the modern-day abundance agenda. What's the expensive thing that rich people today have but isn't "in every home" yet? It's hard to think of anything.

Rich people live in nicer neighborhoods, send their kids to nicer schools, go on nicer vacations, and get better health care. But the manufactured goods in their homes isn't that different from the stuff in the average American's home.

@binarybits I don't think the abundance agenda today is mostly about physical goods that you have in your home. It's for things you mentioned downthread—housing itself, education, healthcare—and things that haven't been invented yet

@binarybits A large home in a walkable neighborhood, great medical care, private jets, a chauffeur, good schools for their kids, a personal chef, many other things!

@binarybits Better homes and cars (and often multiple homes). World class educations. Private planes. Unlimited travel. No financial or health care access worries. Plenty of staff to help. I expect all of these will be democratized in a century.

@binarybits Health insurance. Enough bedrooms to prevent overcrowding of their kids. Housing costs that are a reasonable portion of their income. Short commute.
