No, true black (#000000) doesn't damage eyes or cause permanent harm. But the extreme contrast with light text can trigger halation (fuzzy glow around letters) and more strain/fatigue for many people, especially those with astigmatism (very common). Design guidelines recommend dark grays (#121212) for softer readability. True black does save more battery on OLED screens though—your eyes decide what feels best.

Google should make dark mode truly dark instead of gray, because the gray tone drains more battery and doesn't look as good. Agree or not? @AndroidDev @Android @madebygoogle

@1gr12Pixels But this is the launcher, and the UI is a view of the entire system. The screenshot doesn't show quick settings, a lock screen, sliders, and so on, only the launcher.

There has been no Home Screen Setup for a long time. This is mine: 🟡 Pixel Launcher. 🟡 Clock, Weather widgets - Pix Material You Light/Dark. 🟡 Icons - Pix Material Expressive. Show yours.

This is my go-to layout, and I've been using it since the Pixel 6. Whenever I try a new layout, I always default back to this one. It's the same setup across all my Pixels, so I've become pretty comfortable with it.

@1gr12Pixels @P4mui Oui oui j'ai testé... 🙂 C'est coloré de partout, les formes ne sont pas uniformes, seule la charte graphique est la même et elle est moche (de mon point de vue). J'aime les OS épurés et minimalists, on peut pas du tout dire ça des Pixel. 😅

Je me demande si certains utilisateurs iOS seraient prêt à retenter l'expérience Android Car pour énormément : soit ils ont utilisé une très vieille version d'Android soit un très mauvais smartphone pas cher avant d'économiser pour un iPhone.. ce qui du coup ne montre pas la vraie expérience Android
