@Handre 😂 are you kidding me? The failure of laissez-faire capitalism is what exactly led Marx and Engels to write their Manifesto.

@MasterC2222 @PopBase Wait let me get this straight. Mamdani is forcing corporations to follow labor laws already on the books and give workers back pay that they are owed. But, if the corporations decide to retaliate by inflating their prices...that's somehow Mamdani's fault?

@catturd2 James Fishback is perhaps the best political candidate I've ever seen run in my life. 31 year old guy, fresh ideas, and very in touch with the actual modern societal issues that the relevant generations are facing.

@catturd2 Not really. It isn't that hard to understand. Plenty of lawyers already advertise a policy of "if I dont win, I dont get paid." Our tax dollars are wasted on crap work all the time and it only get chocked up to "lowest bidder" when it's really a "job not done right."

@lazlototh67 @0ba0sama You're averaging an entire country, and comparing it against a single state, which also happens to be the state with the highest cost of living. It could not be a more meaningless comparison if you where fully making up numbers.

@Rahll @HollyWilhelm4 Why do libs not understand basic personal reaponsibility and family relationships? You really just tried to compare the relationship between parent and child and a corporation and customer.

Did your kid commit suicide or shoot up a school with detailed AI instructions and encouragement? That's just the price of progress, you can't hold big tech accountable, how dare you even think about it. - The White House
More Perfect Union@MorePerfectUS

BREAKING: The White House is out with a new National Policy framework for AI. The proposal says: "States should not be permitted to regulate AI development." It also says that states shouldn't be able to penalize AI companies when people break the law with their models.

@ns123abc $SMCI The company really didn't know! The company disowns the employees 100 percent. If your child commits an offense, are you guilty as a parent? No! There is a buying opportunity here.

Three Charged with Conspiring to Unlawfully Divert Cutting Edge U.S. Artificial Intelligence Technology to China “The indictment unsealed today details alleged efforts to evade U.S. export laws through false documents, staged dummy servers to mislead inspectors, and convoluted transshipment schemes, in order to obfuscate the true destination of restricted AI technology—China,” said John A. Eisenberg, Assistant Attorney General for National Security. “These chips are the product of American ingenuity, and NSD will continue to enforce our export-control laws to protect that advantage.” 🔗: justice.gov/opa/pr/three-c…

@Rahll @HollyWilhelm4 Lol, they let their mentally ill 15-year old access a gun. If you think that's at all comparable you have a single-digit IQ.

@Rahll @HollyWilhelm4 So in general you think someone is responsible for someone else's crimes if they have the opportunity to report someone and don't?

@Rahll @HollyWilhelm4 So how would ChatGPT itself have easily stopped it? Last time I checked they didn't have law enforcement authority.

@AddictedtoArg @HollyWilhelm4 Let me reframe it. If the US government knew of an imminent terrorist attack, knew the identity and location of said attacker, and had the ability to stop it very easily but allowed it to happen anyway, you don't think they would bear any responsibility whatsoever?

@Rahll @HollyWilhelm4 Its insane to think people are responsible for other people committing crimes. The shooter is 100% responsible.

@AddictedtoArg @HollyWilhelm4 When 12 different employees bring it to the attention of management and they choose to do nothing despite an attack being imminent, yes, they bear some amount of responsibility, it's insane to think they don't. They could have stopped it.
