@subpargarbage Because I have problems getting to/staying asleep. I sleep when I can. It's currently nearly 5am and I've maybe slept on and off for 2 hours. There's a good chance I'll sleep for a few hours in a bit. I'll take it.

It's entirely possible he didn't realise until right at the end. If you don't watch and listen to these programs then you will only ever assume the worst.

He blundered his jump & landed awkwardly but kept running to the finish. If the jockey suspected something was wrong, he'd have pulled up immediately, as is standard practice.

@ick_real Absolutely. When I was 11 and 12, I'd go out for a 3-4 mile walk by myself, listening to my brother's walkman. Was never an issue. Also, used to stay out until the street lights came on when I was younger than that. It was just a rule we had back then.

Be honest. Did parents really just let their kids wander the neighbourhood all day with no phone and just say be home before dark?
