Been seeing Cartier's bracelets and necklaces — or versions of them in what's known as a "paperclip" design — everywhere. Looks quite good to me.

@ChrisHayduk All the money in the world, nothing to spend it on. At least the finance guys chase something, even if it is hedonic.

Honestly feel like this trend has to do more with lots of people in tech being fairly uncultured than anything else. Successful people in finance often have these high cultural taste hobbies like art collecting or fine wines or literature. Extremely rare in tech to see someone with that kind of interest. And I think that manifests itself physically in these low taste spaces that they curate. But it gets painted as a virtue to cope

High-paid tech workers are cutting life down to the basics so they can invest and retire by 30 One Meta engineer makes over $300K a year and still owns no car, couch or TV More successful Gen Z are choosing calm life over career and money

@jtc_ai @ramit @jaltma @JTLonsdale @benchmark Yeah that death penalty comment is out there for me. I’m clearly not agreeing with everything he’s ever said. All I’m saying is that he’s got a pretty reasonable take here on immigration. How is he espousing feudalism? I dont follow.

x.com/jtlonsdale/sta… You agree with that? Listen I am all for free speech but that also comes with freedom of association. VCs do these podcasts for dealflow. By choosing to platform people who espouse neofeudalism (which is antithetical to democracy and American values), you are also self-selecting out of a nonzero number of founders who don’t want to be associated with it. Few will say it publicly, doesn’t mean they aren’t in private which I hear all the time.
Joe Lonsdale@JTLonsdale

If I’m in charge later, we won’t just have a three strikes law. We will quickly try and hang men after three violent crimes. And yes, we will do it in public to deter others. Our society needs balance. It’s time to bring back masculine leadership to protect our most vulnerable.

@tries_writing @vrakhiri Theyre just different kinds of expansions. I’d prefer 2 Blood and Wine style DLCs too; but calling HoS shit aint it.

@BagEndCapital @vrakhiri The land of a thousand fables is an example of a place with it's own little stories and interesting places and discoveries without strictly having to follow the narrative Hell just exploring Toussaint is more fun Hearts of stone is A to B gameplay

@tries_writing @vrakhiri I dont follow, you can’t just remove the narrative in an RPG like the Witcher. And even if you do, it introduces a whole new mechanic with the runes and the boss fights were excellent and varied.
