I really thought about the best watch brands for each category and this is what I came up with: 1) Unlimited budget: without a doubt Rexhep Rexhepi 2) Best watch brand under 15.000€: Otsuka Lotec, simply unbelievable stuff for money, also the watchmaker is such an incredible person, fully focused on craft and nothing else, it's what watchmaking is all about 3) Holy trinity: it's VC 4) And for a novelty piece under 5k, I'd buy something like a Kollokium Projekt 01

Honestly feel like this trend has to do more with lots of people in tech being fairly uncultured than anything else.
Successful people in finance often have these high cultural taste hobbies like art collecting or fine wines or literature.
Extremely rare in tech to see someone with that kind of interest. And I think that manifests itself physically in these low taste spaces that they curate. But it gets painted as a virtue to cope

Listen I am all for free speech but that also comes with freedom of association. VCs do these podcasts for dealflow. By choosing to platform people who espouse neofeudalism (which is antithetical to democracy and American values), you are also self-selecting out of a nonzero number of founders who don’t want to be associated with it.
Few will say it publicly, doesn’t mean they aren’t in private which I hear all the time.
