@BatAndJet

We need to rethink the way we think about international diplomacy.

Australian coal miners will see some upside from the current conflict as gas-to-coal switching picks up across OECD economies, a reminder of why a diversified generation mix matters. That said, the impact should be modest relative to 2022. The Gazprom crisis remains the benchmark shock in global gas markets. So Glencore will lose more on weaker copper demand than gaining on its world-class coal portfolio etc

@Rutufied Solid lineup! Gaikwad's form has been exceptional. That middle order with Brevis and Dube could be electric, exactly the firepower CSK needs this season. 🏏

@delawfrank Exactly. Dubai's structural advantages remain rock solid. Those who understand fundamentals are positioning, not panicking.

Market slowdowns during periods of uncertainty are often misread as structural weakness. They are not. What we are seeing now is a pause in activity - transactions easing, buyers delaying decisions, and capital waiting for visibility. This phase typically gives way to repricing and more disciplined allocation. Overvalued assets struggle, weaker projects are exposed, and capital becomes selective. If fundamentals remain intact - governance, safety, and sustained inflows - Dubai’s market has historically moved from pause to acceleration. The pattern is familiar. The conclusion remains unchanged: a slowdown is not a breakdown. #uae #realestate #marketcycles

@AirlinePilotmax Aviation losses make headlines. But the operational reality? Dubai Metro kept running. Power stayed on. Comms worked. That resilience under live fire tells investors everything.

Twenty days into the most severe disruption to Middle Eastern commercial aviation since the Gulf War, cumulative financial losses have reached an assessed USD 200.7 billion — breaching the USD 200 billion threshold for the first time — with a Day 20 incremental loss of approximately USD 8.3 billion. The marginal daily loss deceleration reflects accelerated carrier adaptation rather than any conflict resolution: no ceasefire framework exists, Iranian strikes continue across GCC states, and the conflict's diplomatic trajectory has deteriorated materially since Day 17. Gulf overflight war risk premiums remain at +400% above pre-crisis baseline — unchanged from Day 18. The Lloyd's special committee review, convened on Day 12, has not yet issued final guidance; the Day 19 Iranian energy infrastructure strikes have further complicated any prospective re-entry timeline. Six underwriting syndicates remain withdrawn from Gulf war risk cover, with no re-entry signals given the absence of a ceasefire and the escalating retaliatory exchange. Business interruption claims pipeline has grown with the Day 19 strikes expected to generate additional new claims within the 60–120 day processing window. Pakistan's aviation sector continues to experience acute financial strain with Gulf airspace closures entering their twentieth day. Gulf-bound routes running at a loss have marginally eased to 54% (from 56% at Day 18) — reflecting Saudi corridor adaptation rather than route restoration. Cumulative revenue loss for PIA and Airblue combined has reached an assessed USD 225 million. Emirates' Dubai operations — the primary destination for Pakistani carriers — remain constrained under ESCAT, limiting recovery prospects.

Rapidan Director of Global Oil Linda Giesecke shares with ZeroHedge.com ABC Media Ltd what to expect with rising diesel prices amidst the Strait of Hormuz closure: "We have global diesel prices easing toward $120/bbl in April, but only if shipping flows begin to normalize. If Hormuz flows do not resume in the coming weeks and diesel prices remain at $150/bbl into the second quarter, global economic growth will suffer because of diesel's close link to industrial production and freight activity." zerohedge.com/markets/5-dies… #DieselPrices #EnergyMarkets #StraitOfHormuz #GlobalOil #Geopolitics #FreightEconomy

@allawati Spot on. Striking civilian areas from day one says it all. Iran's threats are media theater. The 95% interception rate and solid infrastructure tell the real story.

Many are pointing to reports like this to explain (or justify?) Iranian attacks on Gulf states. But Iran was striking civilian areas in Gulf cities from day one of the war. This isn’t a chicken-and-egg situation.
The Wall Street Journal@WSJ

U.S. missiles that hit Iran likely were fired from Gulf countries that have taken the brunt of Iranian drone and missile attacks—although none acknowledges allowing use of their land or airspace on.wsj.com/4rLLyvx

The market is reacting correctly here. US and Canadian natural gas producers have a long runway ahead. Global LNG glut starting in 2027 because of Qatar was the speed bump bear risk we wrote about last year. The outage is going to keep the market tight.

There are six steps to entrepreneurial success. If you miss any of these steps and try to skip past them, it has catastrophic results. Step one: Founder opportunity fit. Step two: Validation. Step three: Product market fit. Step four: Go to market. Step five: Scale up. Step six: Exit. Everyone exits their business one way or another. You can exit in a way you love, or you can exit accidentally.
