@PaoloPoAko @stanczykonline @ianmiles That's sort of point isn't it? Considering most countries have multiple distinct cultures, traditions, dialects or languages I don't believe you can. However apparently if I don't assimilate I should leave, so I'm wondering what exactly I need to integrate into.

@ianmiles Pole here ✋🏻 We really are respectful towards all nationalities. If you wanna live in Poland that’s cool. But. BUT! If you won’t assimilate get the fuck outta here! Cheers 😊

🔥Well played Emily Maitlis (@maitlis)… Calling out Nigel Farage on Brexit making Clacton worse off, costing every family £2,000. Farage seems to say it’s probably 10x that amount… and doesn’t care.

Michael Caine "I voted for Brexit... I'd rather be a poor master than a rich servant... You get lost, and then you find your way, and it will be alright." Wow, stick to acting.

@sergeantdixie @mikegalsworthy What metric are you using? We are not outperforming France in terms of GDP growth, and the Eurozone is doing much better than us in this regard.

@mikegalsworthy Why are we outperforming France & Germany if EU membership is the defining factor in growth?

🔥 European Movement President Lord Heseltine says this is going to be the most fundamentally dishonest election he’s seen… … because both major parties are trying to avoid the key issue underlying our current malaise- Brexit.

Just landed Athens. When you see it like this (before heading to “all other passports” queue) the insanity of it all is underlined. Global Britain blah …. Brexit. Isn’t. Working. Never would. Never will.

@rlmumford @campbellclaret @found_a_lock_in Wrong, Switzerland is partially in the single market via bilateral agreements. This agreement means they accepted the four freedoms which include freedom of movement.

@Tinchpractice1 @FennieBee @Shivajihimself @TerraOrBust When I travel to another country my UK passport is stamped and this starts the 90 day limit for travel within the Schengen. To avoid loosing my blue card I have to go the immigration office and have the stamp invalidated. Before Brexit none of this was an issue.

@Tinchpractice1 @FennieBee @Shivajihimself @TerraOrBust This is not 100% correct, there is no Schengen Visa. If you want to stay longer than 90 days you would require either a residence permit or a national long-stay visa. You would need to apply in each country you were planning to visit, that's 27 different sets of rules.

@Tarotlovers @DianaSalmon1 @Shivajihimself @Tinchpractice1 @TerraOrBust The "Cookie Directive" gave individuals rights to refuse the use of cookies, and other things that reduce their online privacy. What is silly about that? Never heard anyone complain about it, you could just turn off cookies in your browser and use a cookie notice blocker.

@DianaSalmon1 @Shivajihimself @Tinchpractice1 @TerraOrBust I don’t know the timeframe regards Brexit but as I understand it - it is an EU directive that we had to abide by. I find the cookie notices annoying as do many of my colleagues, friends and family. It’s the whole pop-up notice - not whether you accept it or not.

@MHegartyPiano @ClarkeMicah @NicolaCatt Your point is haha that's silly. Thankfully Science & Engineering don't require you to understand them for them to benefit your life. Otherwise people like you would still be living in caves.

@MHegartyPiano @ClarkeMicah @NicolaCatt I'm sorry you can't comprehend why a precise and universal measure is important in the modern world. It sounds like it is you who lacks imagination. I for one can imagine how in semiconductor manufacture accurate measurements improve wafer yields & increased transistor density.

@BennettTom91 @ClarkeMicah @NicolaCatt I was making fun of you. If you can't see why a measurement that requires the precise calculation of the distance covered by light travelling at 186,000 miles per second in a practically incomprehensible fraction of one second is funny, then give your imagination some exercise.

@shaunmwing @ClarkeMicah @NicolaCatt Irrelevant & meaningless. This is not the definition we use and has not been for 40 years. Two people being being wrong in the 1790's has no relevance to the definition today. In 1959 the yard was defined as equal to exactly 0.9144m so even Imperial realises on Metric.

@BennettTom91 @ClarkeMicah @NicolaCatt Inaccurate & imprecise. Metric enthusiast & Historian, K. Alder muddied the precision water by saying..."two people on the planet who knew the full extent of this error: Delambre & Méchain themselves."

@m0jomoj0 @MHegartyPiano @ClarkeMicah @NicolaCatt Won what argument? I was simply pointing out @ClarkeMicah's mistake when he asserted that the metre "is based on a mistake" it is not. Unless you can prove the "stupid" definition I have provided is incorrect then there is no argument to be had.
