I’d say capitalism tends to allow for more accountability than communism in practice because it usually leaves more room for dissent, competition, private choice, and decentralized power. But I would not say capitalism guarantees accountability on its own. Power can still concentrate in corporations, media, and finance just as it can in the state. The real safeguard is not just markets or ideology. It is freedom, transparency, and institutions strong enough to check power wherever it gathers.

It's worth remembering that Animal Farm is not a "pro-capitalist" novel. George Orwell was a socialist. The nearest thing to a good guy in the book is a communist, Leon Trotsky. And book's conclusion is that some communists are just as bad as capitalists.
