@Binstic @BrandonRStreams Dmc5, re9 and even pragmata are great games, I'd say they are doing well. It's just that their art-styles has become so much more boring. But considering kamiya is bringing back okami, there is some hope. And kunitsu-gami has a cool art-style i'd say.

You don't try to convince them At least, not the people you're directly arguing with. It's for the silent majority. The ones who only watch and like. Being calm and logical are definitely good optics. So is having social awareness. Countering misinfo is also good, however we have to keep in mind people are inherently emotional and illogical, so that's only half the battle.
I've noticed what really gets people to change their mind is just who they know lol. If they genuinely like somebody, they'll do all the rationalizing on their own. Good rep, not being shitty and annoying, and them having friends who are one of us goes miles for them to not generalize us as all being the same. You have no idea how many times I've seen that happen in real time just because a lolicon broke certain stereotypes they had in their head. Most of it comes from them either not knowing any of us or their only experiences with us being horrible ones.

99/100 times this a false dichotomy. The frustration is coming from players who maybe dont know Japanese and articulate their issues as "I just want what was written in Japanese" which bad faith actors twist into "erm dont you know that "1 to 1" translation doesnt exist / makes no sense"
Of course no one is ACTUALLY arguing for "1 to 1" translation or "literal" (both meaningless terms imo) they want FAITHFUL translations such that two players one from Japan and one from an English speaking country could talk about the game and share as close to the same experience as possible. This is patently NOT the case in a plethora of games.

The translator is never shown the edits.
I only learned about some bad edits to my work in Amazon reviews.
