America needs The PROCTOR Act - The People Require Our Congress TO Read Act. I am not at all convinced our representatives read the legislation they vote on. We deserve to know they are not spending all their time in Congress fundraising and politicking.

I have never felt a single bit of animus toward Catholics in my life. In fact, most of the time, I have felt really grateful for y’all because, doctrinally, you have held the line on the most important political issues to me, like abortion and marriage, better than many Protestant denominations. Within this first six months of getting married, I quit taking birth control because of literature a Catholic friend gave me, even though I was a Protestant. But I am telling you all, you don’t realize how the Pope’s actions and the Vatican actions more broadly are being read by Protestants. When it’s a matter of abortion, it’s generic statements directed at no one in particular. When it’s foreign policy, it’s extremely pointed and aimed directly at the United States and specifically Trump.
The Scipio Skanderbeg@ScipioArizonas

@megbasham There's a long history of anti catholic bigotry in 🇺🇸, it never went away.

@unherd @SohrabAhmari From Reagan to Obama, presidents have reluctantly accepted that it is in the best interests of the nation…to govern for the next guy. Even if they get accused of being apart of the uni-party. Trump governs as if no one is coming after him.

It’s becoming popular to say what has long been obvious. Trump’s style of governance only works if he, or someone who will take up his banner, can remain in office for the next 25 years. AND they would have to get more Thomas’s and Alito’s appointed to SCOTUS.

@shipwreckedcrew This is grasping for straws. Also why it was silly to celebrate Trump’s antics as some sort of negotiating victory. He has drawn a red line that would be unthinkable to cross. Which is why tacit approval of Trump’s antics hurt his ability to negotiate.

Pres. Trump declared a cease fire for 2 weeks on the condition that Iran open the Strait. It looks like in less than 24 hour Iran has not met the condition and it did not honor the ceasefire yesterday when it launched missile and drone attacks around the Middle East. Pres. Trump has them back in a condition of not knowing when or what he might opt to do next because the two week window is now inoperative whether they realize it or not. US, Israel and the Gulf States are collecting signals and human intelligence that will inform what needs to be done next. It's comical how little the press seems to learn by simply watching similar sequences of events unfold over time.

This a retreat of what you said. Or your position is that if you can’t vote for Trump don’t vote at all. But if that’s your position, say that. “Casting a vote for Trump is not a signal of someone’s eternal devotion. It’s just choosing the best available set of policies and personnel. That’s it.”

@Ameen_HGA I’ll repeat what I said in quote tweet: Yes, voting for Democrats should be beyond the pale for any Christian. Including black Christians. Because the Democrats’ set of policies is clearly the most wicked. No Christian should choose the most wicked set of policies.

@shipwreckedcrew Wut? He has absolutely no credibility, and no president after him will have credibility. He drew the brightest red line, a line he could not possibly cross. In 10 years, when Trump is gone…what negotiating leverage will a President have when Iranian sons grow up to take revenge?

I didn't believe Trump was going to nuke Iran when I woke up this morning. I don't think Trump is going to give Iran all they have demanded in their 10 point plan tonight. I feel sorry for those of you who did/do.

Erick Erickson@EWErickson

Credit where it is due — the President, through his outlandish tweets that absolutely are beneath the dignity of the Leader of the Free World, has a two-week ceasefire with Iran. Now, Iran has two weeks to get weapons and supplies from Russia and China, put in some anti-aircraft batteries, and prepare for round two.

@AndrewTWalker Moral credibility is admitting it takes 60+ millions of women and doctors to perform 60 million abortions. In the president’s case…it takes one man to kill 90 million of people. Whether joking or negotiation…it is gross. Admit this and be free.

The moral law that rightly prohibits the killing of 90 million Iranians is the same moral law that should prohibit the killing of 60+ million unborn American children. While I appreciate invoking the moral law, do us all a favor and apply it consistently within your own party. That would be real moral authority.
Chris Murphy 🟧@ChrisMurphyCT

In an age of creeping relativism, a universal moral law still exists. Threatening to end an entire civilization of 90 million people in order to bend a nation’s conduct to your will is grossly morally wrong. It is evil. And we should say this loudly.

I get your point, but I disagree. Geno embarrassed himself and UConn. He did not harm Dawn Staley. He made a spicy comment and moved on in the handshake line. Happens often. Dawn snapped and started talking about fighting. Triggered. No self-control. Violence or threats of violence not the proper response from an adult (or child). She had the option of letting Geno make a fool of himself all by himself. She didn't need to join him.
Sage Steele@sagesteele

Why not apologize directly to Dawn Staley? Why not say her name?

@BishopJacob @jasonwhitlock Because 9.5 times out of 10 it’s the black person shaqin a fool and because they believe their actions are and should be immune from repercussions. Most white people, particularly those in public roles with something to lose don’t conduct themselves with that sense of impunity.
