In short: I desire my life to line up w my words. My words to line up with my beliefs. And to believe in true realities.

“Many senators I know would not be able to breathe without that job. It would kill them to leave,” says Scott Pelley. “I don't want what you said to be true. But I fear that that is true. And that is a sign of a much, much deeper problem,” responds former Sen. Ben Sasse. cbsn.ws/48UGcY4

In counseling, I’m not just asking: “What did you do?” I’m asking: “What were you longing for?” “What did you believe would satisfy you?” Because behavior flows from love.

anybody got any (reformed) references that expound on the "He descended into Hell" phrase in the Apostle's Creed?

@WVPitt @ESPNMcGee My guess is that AI killed the E-car market/production. AI takes too much power. The grid can’t handle all of us plugging in our cars AND all the data centers. And AI is worth too much money, so it gets priority.

Fascinating watching the NASCAR electric car debate. It's a tough spot. If manufacturers want e-cars they're gonna get them. Win Sunday/Sell Monday, etc. But where do you put them? I want my racecars loud & angry but the future is what it is. Glad I don't have to figure it out.

Holding it all in won’t help. Let it out. As C.S. Lewis once said: “We should bring to God what is in us, not what ought to be in us.”

@GiffLasta I read an article written by someone who got sober and they said, “Before I was sober, I wanted alcohol. Once I got sober, I wanted everything.”

@KenShepherd When I watched Pineapple Express years ago, I was dying. Don’t know how it would hit me now, but for some reason, then, it was hilarious.

Never touched weed and have no interest in it now, but this 4/20 let me ask you, a) What's your favorite stoner comedy and b) Do you agree with me that widespread state legalization/federal non-enforcement is one factor in the death of the stoner-comedy genre?

Alec Motyer writes that faith is “not a leap in the dark, but a leap into the light… Faith is action taken on evidence, driven by conviction.”

“Nor an explanation, but a solution.” Very helpful framing and a good read. Also, it has became obvious to me that JP’s view of providence and predestination is constructed from J Edwards work, not JC or the WCF.

Today, I recall the extraordinary circumstances surrounding the deaths of Roni and Charity Bowers, how we square them with God’s sovereignty, and what our ultimate hope is in the wake of tragedy. open.substack.com/pub/amymantrav…
