Your Genevan citation has the isolated appearance of tweeting exclusive psalmody, but I have heard you speak more constructively.

@BthomasInman Please read more carefully comma I expressed no view on psalms, I merely shared a quote from Calvin, or at least from the Geneva Bible period.

"By psalms he means all godly songs which were written upon various occasions, and by hymns, all such as contain the praise of God, and by spiritual songs, other more special and artful songs which were also in praise of God, but they were made fuller of music."

@Cad_lib @presbycast I’m with Christopher Ash on this verse contra the Geneva details but agree with Geneva that this is about common life not public worship. From this we see pervasive psalmody, the kind that reflects rpw inclusion of the psalter.

Alliance 4 Ministers & Rejiggering So I have this friend who is married to a girl he thinks the world of (he says frequently). Because he loves her, he also loves her sister (he explains this frequently, too). He is all about the family. He thinks extended family is basic to loving your wedded wife. Now, that makes a lot of sense to me. But, he is constantly comparing his wedded wife unfavorably to her sister, but only for his dear wife's improvement (he explains, frequently). I have begun to suspect that he actually doesn't want to know his wedded wife very well, because then he would have to admit that he doesn't really like her much. While he can't really tell you himself, he will with frustration say, "well-- you know how she is some times." At some point I doubt that he is really so fond of his wedded wife. He thinks he married the wrong girl and is set on changing the one he married into the one he wants. I don't call that ecumenical. CN Derangement Syndrome is a thing. The inability and unwillingness to distinguish the spectrum of views to & treat those who hold them respectfuly is ungodly & it is driving people to the sinful expressions of it. RR2k (Rabid R2K) is brining this division in NAPARC.
